Glad to be back. Feels like I'm late to the party a bit, understandable after 10 years. Leaning towards investing a bit on a rear sway bar, maybe on suspension and brakes since I don't push the car too much but love twisting and turning. Owned a 2002 MCS may build I sold in 2005 and I remember a MC40 sitting at Mini dealer near me for months and drooling. Checking the vin I noticed my MC40 was built 7/2004 and sold 9/2005 at the same dealer. Fate, lol. ECSTuning, your site is the only one that has the MC40 as a subcategory, nice.

Your car has low mileage, I would think it would be a prime candidate for this...

Dude go drive a JCW then drive an STI you can't even compare the two. I had an 04 JCW that was highly modified which I traded in on my 09 STI which was an animal. Just different cars altogether. Plus my current MC40 has a 17% pulley,M7 intake and Milltek exhaust so really what am I going to get out of dropping 7k on a JCW kit?

Went to mini of peabody to see if they had a service record and to my surprise they did, car was purchased there, new tires last year and also flushed coolant and brake fluid. Original bmw battery. Had to take a look and yes 10 years and still going. Oil was serviced july 13 at 16,5k miles and the mini service rep said no need to change but I will. So happy I might burst
You made out big time man! I paid 13k for mine in April with 24k on the clock. Great car man very clean and now you bumped me as the lowest milage MC40 lol

We are the only ones with that kit, the old one from MINI is nla. It was a premium kit back and the day and commended a premium price. Most of the components were and still are made in England, the SC Made in the USA of course.

thanks and the MC40 is a rare thing to find and even more rare with that low mileage, a Gem .

Fairly new MC40 owner, new to NAM

Hello fellow MC40 owners and NAM-ers. I apologize if I am not doing this correctly, but this is my first post. I bought an MC40 with the JCW tuning kit about a year and half ago and have loved every day driving it. Unfortunately, the numbered plaque and the MC40 decals have been taken (I am the third owner). Would someone be willing to post a straight on picture and dimensions of the numbered plaque as I am looking to make one myself? Again, I am new to all of this so sorry if I am making mistakes.

Welcome to the MC40s...

I assume from your post, you only want the "33 EJB" plate, I'll grab the measurements and take a photo when I get back to my house tonight.

I can put you in touch with someone that can get you an OEM decal set if you want, and if you want the magnetic number plates, you can explore the MC40 forum and you will find the link for Firestorm Graphics they did mine and I believe have supplied a few to other members.

Motor on!

Thanks for your response and help. If you could get me in touch with someone for the OEM decal set that would be awesome!

I am actually wondering about the size of the signature plaque the sits by the handbrake (I think, I don't know since I don't have it) with the number of 1000. Sorry I didn't explain better what I was looking for. I have a habit of doing that.

PM sent for decals...

The Commemorative Plaque ...

It is about 3x3 but I'm not in one today, so I'll have to get the actual size when I get home

The way I'm going will be catching you soon btw don't think I have had the radio on yet, love hearing it purr. The plate pic JABowders posted seems much smaller than I expected. Mine sat at the dealer for a year when new so was probably stolen. Wish I knew which # of 1000. It was a June July build so probably near the end, wild guess...

Suggest you contact MINI USA. They may be able to help identify your MC40 unique number from your VIN. MINIUSAcares@miniusa.com

The Paddy Hopkirk plaque is 3 inches by 3 inches (3"x3") easy to get lost in the documents folder, hidden away between the books and CDs.

New member here just picked up an MC40 in Chicago today. 86,000 for $6000. Little rough around the edges, but ill clean it up. Most of the MC40 badging is missing other then the floor mats. Not sure on the number. Lot i picked it up on plasti dipped the chrome pieces on the front end and wheels.

Been digging around but no luck so far. Any way to figure it out based on vin or get a rough idea?

Vin is WMWRE33414TD87428

Says it was built 27.04.2004

I was looking at that same car. I called a mini dealer up in Milwaukee as after a bit of digging on the web, it looked like it came from that area. The dealer couldnt find anything on the VIN coding to say it was an MC40. Odd, since it definitely looks like one.

Most of it was debadged for some reason, but you can see faded paint where the decals were. **** is missing the emblem, but floor mats have them. Has the dash and the gauges. Came with the window sticker that has the mc40 option on it as well. Think it originally was from Jersey, then went to Wisconsin at some point.

Second owner. Bought this one back in 2008. I have seen at least one other mc40 here in Vegas. Possibly 2 others. Only 76k miles on mine rite now. It's my baby. No decals. Orig owner got rid of them but do have commemorative number plate. Anyone know where I can get a new Set of decals

Spotted an MC40 on Craigslist SF Bay Area advertising $13.5K, 26.5K miles, long description, and pictures. No affiliation, just an FYI for anyone looking for an MC40, or R53 in general.
