Hi everyone, new Mini owner here. Just traded my 435xi in for a 2022 Cooper JCW. I absolutely love the car, but as snow is coming, I'm looking at wheels and tires to survive the winter. The JCW brakes have been a royal pain in the rear for finding runflat winter tires, but that's not my current mystery.
I bought the car off the showroom floor with (what the factory sticker called) 18" JCW Circuit Spoke 2-Tone wheels. That didn't surprise me at the time... the tires are 205/40-R18 summer runflats. The mystery is this: I can only find these wheels in 19" size, as 592 Circuit Spoke 19". I found them at ecstuning.com and turnermotorspots.com in that size, and nobody seems to have them in 18".
As an aside, if I decode my VIN, I get Mini Lt-All.Wheel Spoke 902 Jb Run-Flat.
Lol, that would be a neat trick. Impossible but fun to watch someone try. Your wheels are whatever diameter the tire says they are. You could also measure one I suppose.
Assuming you're in the USA Tirerack is very reliable to get wheels/tires that fit, you can order the snow wheels/tires as a package mounted and balanced delivered to your doorstep.
Looking at a '22 JCW hardtop 2 door with runflats it is showing me 36 wheel options, clicked on the top one and got two different snow tires available that fit.
Thanks, Tire Rack has a bunch of options, and I'm a long-time customer of theirs, but all their wheels have warnings about clearing the fenders. I called up Tire Rack CS and they didn't have any options that they were confident wouldn't rub.
Given that Tire Rack doesn't have something turnkey, I poured over forums and the like, and found some nice wheel options. I like the RSe05's, and am leaning towards those and some Blizzak LM60's, because I know they'll fit without spacers.
I still don't know how the heck my OE wheels appear to be only available as 19" wheels, but are fitted with 18" tires. I can't find a single site that sells the wheel in 18" size, or even references a part number. Which is why I wondered if there was some voodoo at play to squeeze these tires onto too-large wheels.

Was I sold 19" wheels with 18" tires?
I have a '22 JCW. I factory ordered mine. The only options available are 17" and 18" wheels. The Mini factory Circuit Spoke 2-Tone wheels are 18". Wheel diameter is measured from bead seat to bead seat on the inside of the wheel face - not on the outside face of the wheel.
Snap a picture of the wheel and tire with the size marking and upload here and we can confirm for sure.
Here's a couple pics... One showing the diameter of the outer lip. Not the actual dimension of the wheel, I know, but the best I can do with the tire mounted. Also, the dealer placard noting the 18" Circuit Spoke.
Yeah, you can't use the outer face lip to lip as a measure for the wheels. That's just plain inaccurate. There's probably 3/4" of face/lip on each side - that makes it seem like it's 1.5" larger than it really is.
Also, I think the Clubman/Countryman may have had the same wheel design in a 19" and the 2022 Cooper 2 door JCW 18" version is not yet listed in retail sites.
I realize the outer lip measurement isn't the actual wheel size. I just have nothing else to go on unless I removed the tire.
I think your theory makes sense; it's tough to find parts info for the 2022's. My car was made in July, and decoding the VIN it claims the wheels are "902", which I can't find anywhere. Perhaps "902 18" Circuit Spoke" will be the name we start seeing filter into the parts catalogs soon.
For what it's worth for anyone else looking into this wheel in the future, I was quoted $500 for this wheel by a Mini dealer.
