Question for those of you that have replaced your runflats with non runflats. Did you set your tire pressure the same as the factory recommendations for the runflats or did you change your tire pressure?

 

I replaced the runflats with Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+, went up from 205/4018 to 215/40/18. That being said I run 38 front and 36 rear. The factory pressures are too high in my opinion.

 

factory recommendations are based on size of tire versus weight of the car + load

nothing to do with RF versus 'regular' (just as there are no pressure differences for a summer tire vs all season vs winter)

but you are on 18"wheels ... this makes a difference. A GEN3 on 16" recommends 36/33 (just checked our F57 ... month old)

OP: if you stayed with same size tires then stick with the recommendations in the sticker .... if you changed size .... wellllllll it becomes a seat of the pants thing to factor in ride and WEAR patterns. And if you can't read wear patterns ...... wellllllllllll

 

Replaced my 205/45x18 runflats with the same size Michelin A/S 3+ and run them at the recommend pressures 42f,39r. I tried lower and higher pressures and I just settled on the those pressures. The steering is fine and the tires stick. There's a lot of load on the outside front tire during corning. With all the bad roads we have, I like to keep my tires pumped up at least to the recommended pressures. If I were auto crossing I might lower them a bit to increase the tire patch.
