WTB Hitch for 06 MCS

Looking for a hitch for my 2006 MCS, I think it needs to be the hidden mounted one.
Anyone have one they are not using?
Thanks

I think it needs to be the hidden mounted one.
and if you go with a MiniDoMore (which I recommend) make sure you get the right one.
One model is for cars with rear fog light and one for cars without it. (although, if you have no fog light but find a hitch receiver for cars with fog, it will work . . . it'll jus be more recessed and harder to get to than it needs to be)

hitch

Good point, I have no fog light, and the Mini Do More hitch would be the one I am looking for.

Not a lot of those used floating around, but they're a great hitch. Echo what was mentioned above - if you don't have a rear fog or reverse light, get the MDM hitch that puts the receiver closer to the rear of the car - I believe that's the 1003 model, but check with Brent at MDM to be sure. I've got one and really like it. I know MDM is offering installations at MOTD if you're heading in that direction, and if not and you're ever near Pittsburgh I'd be happy to help out, I've done a few of 'em!

Thanks for the post but I think I would like the hitch vs the sport link.

I am located in New Mexico, I have 2 MINIs one 06 MCS and a 06 Mini. Would possible consider doing both if price is good.

There are inexpensive hitches available for the MC, check www.hitch-web.com.

The only MCS hitch worth a darn is either the sportlink ($$$$) or the MiniDoMore (now rated for 200lb tongue weight, 2000# trailer), still a little pricey but not at all like the sportlink once you factor in accessories.

Good luck!

Dixon - is that weight rating just from new testing of the standard design or is it on a redesigned MDM hitch (in other words, is my old MDM rated for 200 / 2000)?

Well I don't know what you are planning on 'towing' with a MINI , but the Sport-link and Tow-link combo that gnaster is selling has a rated capacity of 1400 lbs. (http://www.minifini.com/ShopDetail.aspx?id=18) AND... he's selling them for a lot cheaper than MINI-Fini is online. Just more to chew on while making your decision....
