Helix | Spring Intercooler Group Buy
There's been enough support for another GB that we're going to start one early this year. Once again, we'll ship immediately at the end of the Group Buy, which will be March 1, 2013. We'll honor the same price as the fall intercooler deal which was $599. To sweeten the pot, if we get 20 participants, we'll ship the intercoolers for free*, and if we get 30 participants we'll lower the price to $579. That's $170 savings from the normal price (plus free shipping). To get in on the spring group buy visit our site and buy a $75 non-refundable deposit, or you can always call Helix and order over the phone: 26Seven 33Five 4337.
*On orders within the CONUS. If you are outside of the lower 48, we'll make a deal on shipping on an individual basis.

Oh and do you have pics of the black intercooler option? Will this be an option to upgrade again this time around? Thanks!

No, if it were one or two coolers either way, I might find it within my cold heart to let it slide. Here's a shot of the thermal coated coolers. As I have stated elsewhere, it did not pay to have this done. The coating costs us about $80/per and produces such a small change in performance that it falls within the 'noise' of our dyno and datalogging capabilities. I may try powdercoating a couple, which would be cheaper but with unknown results. As of now, we are offering the polished coolers.

Almost ready to commit but I wanted to ask...
I studied the install videos and pictures but don't see any mounting tabs. Is the IC held in place solely by the end hoses and upper bumper mount? If so, doesn't a stiff suspension cause it to rattle about and make noise? Is there a rubber gasket or something?
Also, does the extra weight over OEM counteract some of the HP gains? That is I don't see weights advertized in the specs, so is it really of no concern?
Thanks for the early GP!

We actually just had a run on these coolers and are temporarily sold out, so I couldn't send you one at any price at the moment. We will get a few in for grind and polish before the end of this GB, but right now, we're out.

Good questions. The intercooler sits on the rad support and is sandwiched between the front of the support and the bumper cover. It doesn't move or rattle. Search this forum for many discussions and testimonials. There are pure race cars that run this intercooler with the exact same mounting hardware. The weight gain is about 10lbs. so yes, there is a performance compromise equivalent of .68 horsepower if you calculate the power to weight. Of course your performance gains will be between 10 and 20 times the loss due to the extra 10 lbs.

This is a great deal and almost a mandatory upgrade for anyone who has that skanky OEM FMIC. Summer is coming around the corner so don't stress out your turbo or engine any further. Looks like an easy install with no cutting necessary! Ok, I'll be quiet now.

Hopefully free shipping if we can get 20 people to order. I'd rather not have to pay shipping from PA to AZ. Come on everybody sign up!!
