I was in on the last group buy. Do it! Better deal if everyone gets on it, for sure! It is also not hard to install if that is stopping you. Took me about 2 hours with normal stuff. My only tip is to survey the different button fasteners and go pick up a few of each. Invariably, you'll mess some of them up, wheel well, and underneath especially.
Anyone know if it will fit a 2012 US spec Countryman? I've seen mixed results on other brands with bumpers getting in the way. I'll do some research but if anyone knows offhand I'd appreciate it.
Just a quick question, if I get the Helix IC do I need to get a bigger OD discharge pipe and air charge pipe? Just checking if there will be a problem on pressure faults..I need the HELIX!:-)

Give Way or Detroit Tuned a call and ask them tomorrow. Best and fast answer to your question.

If you have an N14, they said from sources who tune it's good to have the cold and hot side pipe. If you have the N18, all you need is the hot side pipe. Good luck!
The stock hoses connect just fine. Many change out the driver side hose to remove the muffler inline on that hose. Some just put a tube in the splice. Search muffler delete for a lot of talk on that. It is not a requirement for the FMIC.
I've read that some intercoolers have an issue fitting in 2012 Cooper S' due to some revised bumper support. Can someone confirm that this fits? I need an intercooler badly. LOL
Yes, it fits behind the '12 bumper support. Got mine on the first GB.

Our intercooler fits the 2012 cars without any cutting or modification.
I would definitely be in for that coating. Not for improving heat transfer, but for the stealth look. that's really sweet!
Trust me. I like black. Thing is though, unless you run without the grille work, you can't see it anyway. You have to know what you are looking for to be able to tell it is even installed, at least by my eye. Myself, I wouldn't run without it. The grille work isn't much defense against flying road debris but better than a straight shot to the FMIC. I say, protect the investment.
You can take the money you save on the group buy and get a TD coat. That's what I did. I bought one from a NAM member who got it on a GB. The bare metal one is great too. Just another way you can go.

Reason: Typo!
Ok. Wasn't planning to remove the grill. It just seemed from the pictures that a lot of chrome shows through and changes the look. Nice to know that's not a big issue.
I got one of these last year but had to sell it last this month because my MINI was a dud. I would've kept it but wasn't sure about getting into another one. Well guess what?! I'm picking up the new MINI on Sunday. Hopefully I can still get in on this.
