Mini Coupe, that looks like the stock 2011 intake tube. At least, that's what mine looks like.
DSchwenn,
I got a PM from you and 2 other folks this weekend. I'll get y'all invoiced on Monday.

Nice - how's it sound? Did you get either of the "mufflers" or are you running it on full open? How long was the install?

Up to 400+ miles so I have a ways to go...but a weekend in Napa should help get rid of a lot of those miles.

I'm running it full open and the install was about an hour or 2. And I only have about 800+ on my baby so I'm almost to that 1200 break-in point. I can't wait to hit 1200 and get my magnaflow

I've got about 1500 miles now, so I'll see if I have time to install this over the weekend.

Yikes. I drove mine off the lot on the 14th of March and I'm just passed 1200 miles. Get out and do some motoring.

So it seems like everyone is talking about a break in period? Is there one on the 2011 Clubman S before I can install this thing? My dealer said no break in on 2011.

There is always a break in period for new cars.

Stay out of WOT till about 1,200 miles.
4500 RPM up to 500 miles.
5300 RPM around 750 miles.
6000 RPM around 1000 miles.

The manual has some suggestions about break in period in the back of the book.

Here is some information on break-in as well. http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm
Some say drive it hard, some say take it easy. Your choice.

I got this installed finally. It sounds CRAZY, lol. Even with the noise baffle its loud as hell (in a cool way). The baffle makes somewhat of a weird clanking sound at low levels of throttle, but its not a problem per se. If you've ever heard your home dryer vent flapping because its windy outside, you'll know what it sounds like.

I will post up a pic and get some video in the next few days....

I thought i read recently in a thread that was due to the throttle plate opening and closing. The clanking noise that is. Maybe that is just a whistling noise i read about? Can't remember.

Well the noise I'm referring to is clearly coming from the bulkhead area so I'm pretty sure its the butterfly noise baffle barely opening and flapping a bit. This happens at VERY light throttle. If I stab the gas, it cranks open and I get the high pitch whistle. All in all, the car is more "vocal" than I was expecting, but its entertaining.

Since I'm somewhat new to modification, can you provide any insight on warranty status for a '10 R56 MCS? Can I assume this is warranty voiding, or is it a simple "bolt-on" CAI that wouldn't require a shop?

Edit: Nevermind, just read here that cutting is required
