DoS R55, R56, R57 MCS/JCW CAI Group Buy Terms for 2011 Announced!
Edit: Nevermind, just read here that cutting is required

Just if you are curious.
No problem man. It disuaded me at first when I thought about getting it and finally asked the dealer and he calmed all my worries. I am not sure how much labor would cost at the dealer or if your dealer will support after market part installation (some say nay nay), but go ahead and just call up your local mini service department and ask about it. They should be able to happily assist you, but they will warn you that the part is not covered under warranty and they cannot cover any problems that could arise (not that they will, but they still have to disclose it).
Hope this helps.

Since I'm somewhat new to modification, can you provide any insight on warranty status for a '10 R56 MCS? Can I assume this is warranty voiding, or is it a simple "bolt-on" CAI that wouldn't require a shop?

As other customers will attest, you don't need to be a mechanic to install the DoS CAI. Also, you don't need to cut the bulkhead that comes with your car if you order a precut bulkhead panel or purchase a new one to mod yourself. This allows you to return your MINI back to stock if you ever decide to do so in the future.

Hey Clint,
I might be interested in picking up one of these. What I am looking to get are:
- DoS CAI w/ T-Bolt (I will be purchasing the JCW hard plastic inlet tube)
- DoS Modified upper Bulkhead
- DoS Butterfly Noise Baffle
- WMW Performance Diverter Valve
Can you PM me a price on these based on the GB? These will be installed on a 2008 R55 S.
Also, I am toying with the idea of driving 12 hours to MITM but I haven't committed yet. Are you offering any specials, installs, etc while at the meet? I am curious if it would just be worth it to drive up and see you guys to get it done, ask questions, etc. I have no problem doing it myself (other than cutting up the bulkhead), but I didn't know if you were doing anything like that during the meet.
Let me know.
Thanks!

I will be at MITM doing installs and hanging out at the DoS booth at MITM 2011. (I will be driving about 21 hours to get there. ) 12 hours is a reasonable drive and it's a GREAT Mini and MINI crowd in CO. You should get yourself out to MITM 2011!!
I'll shoot you a PM with the pricing that you requested by tonight. Shoot me a PM with your desired shipping city and transmission type just in case you can't make it out to CO this summer.

Personally, I'd recommend leaving any OEM plastic black and swapping-in red silicone couplers if you'd like to spice things up a bit in the engine bay.

PM me with more specifics. It would be cool to see a shot of your engine bay and some arrows pointing to the parts that you'd like to see in different colors.

The Cliff's Notes: Get some red Samco boost tubes, red flex loom (w/red zip ties) and some red red silicone couplers. Then you're in business!

The group buy is explained here.

PM me if you have any more questions.
We may do one more of these this year. However, after the 6th Group Buy we're putting a hiatus on further CAI Group Buys.
Thanks for your interest in Defenders of Speed.

2) Let me know your preferred shipping address so that I can send you a quote.
3) Let me know if your MINI has a manual or an automatic transmission.
Drop me an email or PM if you have any other questions.
