MOTD-18 April 28 - May 2

After 15 years of attending MOTD in my R50 Justa MINI, I will be sporting my new to me 2011 MINI Cooper R56S! Gone is the Chili Red and white, 126hp Dragon Slaying RaceR50 and in with the 215 turbocharged hp British Racing Green and white R56S set up very similar to my old MINI. I am looking forward to the new challenge! Barry reminded me: With great power comes great responsibility! I will be relearning how to drive. I believe I’m up to the challenge.

http://minisonthedragon.com/

If you don’t see me around Fontana Village, you know where to find me........I’ll be on the Dragon!

Only 120 days and counting!

Stay safe! Drive fast, take chances!

We'll be there! Trying to find the right cabin, at the moment. On the wait list for Fontana since we let our recurring cabin reservation lapse a few years ago, unfortunately.

Glad to be back in a MINI after a few years. The N12 turned us off gas engines as a whole for a while, but manual, gas MINIs are just too fun.

Welcome back! What MINI are you driving these days? Pics please.
Here is mine:

Transferred my Hella led lights to my new VIP R56S light bar. (Thanks to my wonderful wife and Aaron at Outmotoring!)

That's a great MINI! Love BRG/White combo, plus those are great wheels!

We tracked down an F56 S, Ice Blue Edition, manual after seeing a picture of one online and remembering that we tried to buy one when they were new, but the dealer wouldn't get us a manual one. It's reminiscent of our Oxygen Blue / White (with Orange wheels) R56 that we loved... and drove to MOTD ~4 times.

I know this might not be ideal, but you might be able to find something in pigeon forge or gatlinburg. Yes it’s an hour and half away, but it’s a beautiful fun drive. I’ll be making this track everyday, my parents live in sevierville, and I’m an early bird away. If you don’t mind camping try the camp ground down by the dam.

Sorry for the delayed response. Make sure you have added your name to Fontana’s waiting list, under normal years rooms and cabins open up, 2021 is still not quite normal yet. (But we are getting there!). You can also keep your eye on these forums, again as we get closer spare bedrooms seem to become available. I personally have stay further away and don’t care for it, I don’t feel as part of the action. Good luck and keep looking.

If you can’t find closer, I’ve stayed here and it’s very nice!

Friends have stayed here, basic, but clean:

Also look for private cabins, but be careful and make sure they are MINI friendly, some have some steep gravel roads.

Hey all, been many moons since I have been on the forum and at least 3 years since i have been on the Dragon. Will be in new to me F56 this time around and just passing on that Quality Inn at Robbinsville has rooms, I just booked for 4 nights. It was Microtel last time I was there but very convenient to everything and always has dozens of MINIs staying there.

Welcome back! I remember your screen name from back in the day.

We're in the same boat: Been away from the MINI community for a while, but back now with an F56 and planning to be at MOTD.

MOTD 18 Take 2, an Unofficial Event

Well, MOTD 18 Take 2 is now an Unofficial Event, but let’s make it one to remember! Lets make this a great “Grassroots” event.

https://www.minisonthedragon.com/

MOTD T-shirts are able to be purchased until March 31th.

Barry, thank you for your continued direction and work during these challenging times.

https://www.minisonthedragon.com/ it’s still going to happen just going to be more grassroots this year or unofficial. I will be there and I know Colinmini will be as well.
