Feeler - considering sale

Sorry, I'm a newb. What style of wheel are these? What could one expect for selling the wheels & tires? (The Dunlop's have 4,800 miles on them now).

I'm also considering just dumping the Dunlop RFT's, and installing these on the OEM wheel set:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....speed_rating=W

If I stay with the OEM wheels, and go with the Goodyears, will that help dampen the rough ride (from the RFT's)? Or, are the 17" OEM wheel set still a bit heavy?

I've also installed the M7 SRP's, shortly after buying my MINI. (after reading all the mushrooming strut issues).

advice/feedback is most welcome.

thanks for the identification mate! appreciate it.

Now I'm wondering if I should sell them (and tires), and go with a lighter wheel. Or could I just go with the Goodyears, (and dump the RFT's).

Decisions, decisions...

If you like your wheels a lot, keep 'em. You can get non-runflats if you need new tires, but if not you can get Koni FSD struts if you mainly want to smooth out the ride.

If you want new wheels you can probably swap those for about the same price ($600-700). Going to 16" wheels would also improve the ride. They're typically lighter in weight.

thanks. I'm thinking about that. Just keep the R98's, and go with the Goodyear non RFT's. Would be curious to hear about anyone with that setup. I'll post question related to that.

thanks again!

I'd keep the wheels myself-I like them. Even if you change, I'd keep them for when I sell the car.

If you change from rft's you can post them for sale. Might get something towards the new tires. They'd be good for someone that messes one up for instance.

Thanks. As I dig further into this website, I'm now considering keeping the wheels. But do plan to swapout the RFT's with the Goodyears. I've posted another thread asking for feedback on Non RFT's being mounted onto the R98's.

thanks!

I just switched from the Dunlop RFTs to Potenza S03s from Alex at Tire Rack on stock wheels. Not only is the ride WAY improved, the handling is, too.

Bottom line: do that. ;-)

If you're looking to improve grip, those Goodyear tires are some of the best, but if you're mainly trying to improve the ride have you considered the Koni FSDs? Pricewise, they're in the same ballpark.
