"Jack Point" underneath the MINI is Missing!

Well i just went outside to jack up the car with the stock floor-jack. Come to find out, when i look underneath the aero side-skirt to look for the "jack point" (feels like a hard block of box plastic ) the Jack point behind the drivers front wheel is missing! I felt around underneath and i have all the other 3. There are 2 on each side of the car, im just missing the drivers front. So heres my question.
Can i use something of similar shape and firmness in place of it in that empty space ? I surely dont want to use the jack on the aeroside plastic! O

OR, just borrow a real jack to get deep under the car and lift it on the frame ?
This is a real bummer cuz i was gonna paint the calipers at the same time and then mount my new 18" wheels as im off today

No worries, you can use the factory jack point even with the plastic block missing. I'd put a piece of wood between your jack and your car, as you suggested.

I don't usually use the factory points when jacking up the car, anyway, since that's where I like to put the jackstands. I just put a long, flat piece of wood under the sill between the two jack points and use that to jack up the entire side of the car, then slip stands under both factory points at the same time.

A wood 2x4 that is a couple feet long, between the jack and the framerail should be OK.

EDIT: Ok scott beat me to it, with a better response.

Options

I have lost them too. I just buy them at the dealer, don't remember them being over 20 bucks. It takes you longer to kneel down then it does to install them. But in the meantime, just keep jacking, you can lift the whole side from either the front or rear pick up point.

We stock the oem jack points, and sell them for under $9.00 each.
