When I lowered my car and put the wheels back on we torqued it at 90 ft/lbs. I trusted him so I assume it's right

The 90 ft/lbs figure did not sound right to me. I checked the owners' manual for the 2007 MINI and found: [FONT=MINITypeRegular-Regular][SIZE=1]
Tightening torque: 103.3 lb ft/140 Nm.
on page 110.

Take care about those lug nuts,

The owner's manuals up to and including 2006 listed 120 N-m (88.5 lbf-ft). Beginning with 2007, the manual lists 140 N-m (103.3 lbf-ft).

The changeover probably coincides with the switch from 12mm X 1.5mm lug bolts to 14mm X 1.25mm lug bolts.

Wow - that's a significant increase, and in my experience, much more than most makes. Is BMW torque that high?

...with my 2006, sounds like 90 lb-ft isn't too far off!

The bolt switchover was a running design change and actually took place in mid-July 2006. My wife's 2006 MCSC has the 12mm bolts (April 2006 build), but my 2006 MCSC has the 14mm bolts (September 2006 build).
