I'm seeking to go inch-down from my current 17 for upcoming spring. and I am not gonna compromise the width of rim.
I want em Wide. I want em to be sticking otu like crazy. (ET35,30, +)

If you are currently running similar setup, show em please!!

Ps. Anyone with 15x8 Rota RBs yet?!

You wont find wide here,sprp...everyone runs 7 inchers And i certainly wouldnt call 7 inches wide on a car that comes stock with 7 inch wide wheels

You should look into these...the price isnt THAT high.

16x9 et 30 $214 each with free shipping They supposedly (according to rumors amongst the euro crowd) are about to be discontinued and become rare too

Those look pretty nice. If I can't find a nice set of RS' for a reasonable price I will have to look into those

You should just look into another set, we don't wanna be twins....i already have a set of super rare RS's on order . Besides, reasonable price and RS don't really go hand in hand

It also looks like 949 racing is going to be coming out with a 15 x 9 wheel, which may be interesting.

hahah i know exactly what you mean. I've been looking for about 8 months....but i think i finally found a set that i can work with. It's gonna need some polishing and fixing some blemishes, but for the price I'm just gonna jump on it.

Good luck. I have been searching ebay about every week, but some of those three piece wheels on tunershop look great! Thanks for posting the link.

What about that one?

Tunershop is a great site....and if i ever won the lottery i would have a lot of fun over there with their 3 piece wheels.

I'm pretty sure the keskins aren't 3 piece....they might be 2 piece though.

16x9 is great if you can find the right offset around 30-35

What is the widest wheel that been succesfully fitted on a Mini?

Can 9" fit without a lot of work?

+37, 16x7 with 225/45R16 Hankook z212's... required a bit of trimming, but not much. Based on clearance of the strut and the fender, it'd be hard to go any wider...

This belongs to eastsidemini

Wheels: 3 piece forged Kodiak wheels 18x9 custom ordered
245/35-18 tires, Bilstein PSS9 coilovers.

Note the agressive trimming of the rear plastic archs

9 has been fit......but fitting wide wheels will never be without some work....it takes the right wheel, right tire size, suspension and offset, and trimming.

for 9 inches you want et 30-35

people have gone 2 inches wider 7's arent wide

a good setup would be 16x9's with 215 tires and ET35....of course with coilovers slammed down. You should be able to fit that and lower it a good amount with just a little simple fender trimming

For performance, I don't see the point of a 9" wide wheel unless you can put enough rubber on it to use all 9" - e.g. 235's or wider... A 9" wheel with 215's is fine if that's what you want, I reckon... All you have is a heavier wheel and less tire on it...

With a +37 and 225's, I have just barely enough clearance everywhere with some minor trimming - the tire's very close to the strut and the flares... That was my only point.

9inch wheels would never be about performance...optimal performance size for our cars is 7 or 7.5 in my past experiences. The specs i reccomended would be for a street wheel setup. Yours are pefect for the track/autocross. It's best to have one setup for each so that you can look good when cruising, and perform well at track/autox events.

I do believe (as i know sprp well) that he was looking at wider wheels more for the look.

Your stance does look great though....it looks like it means buisness

Man, I'd be looking for something with a big, FAT lip on it then.

Thanks - it does mean business.

What makes you say that? Just curious.

just my experience and what I've heard from most of the autocross and track guys i have talked to. The 8s dont offer any more tire choices that fit than the 7.5s or 7s do. As shown above 225 is pushing it and can be fit on 7s and the 245s on eastside required a lot of trimming. And 245s could be fit on 7.5s if you want to try to fit them

From much of what i have read in the road racing and autocrosses, the extra tire width possibilities offered by an 8 inch wheel dont make up for the added weight. So in my opinion (my statement wasnt meant to be any more than that), 7 and 7.5 inch rims are probably your best bet for performance because they offer very adequate tire sizes and will weigh less than the 8s.

(some may argue that there isnt a need to go up to 7.....and i guess that is up to debate)
