Chrome S-lites
I was at the track today and two all black MCS with chrome S-lites were driving. Several people and I thought that looked really good. But here's the catch. I wonder about the weight of a chromed S-lite. It's already 25 pounds in stock S-light version and then chromed aftermarket. The dealer charges about $2450 additional to chrome any stock wheelset. When the car is moving, each wheel looks like a sparkly fan spinning. Very nice.

I have seen the Chrome S-lites up close and they are done extremely well. A high quality job.
I own the S-lites and would consider plating them once I wear out the Runflat tires- won't take long if I take them out on the track a few more times. It'll cost me for shipping the rims to and from california and about $600 for the plating. Turn around time might be about 2-3 weeks. Could be worth it. Then I would put on some street tires like Falken ZIEX ZE-512 or Falken Azenis ST-115 (very quiet ride). This set up might ride smoother, look better, wear longer, be more comfortable in daily use and not be noisy at all.
Phone: Platecorp at (714) 639-1371 or outside of California 1-800-639-1371
Email to pshafer@platecorp.com for any other info or orders.
I don't work for or am in any way connected to platecorp or any of it's employees.

I don't know how to do the anthracite but it would be interesting.
I don't have a source for power coating but it has been done before.
I guess you also have to ask yourself about durability as well as cost.
I know the chrome wheels look sharp standing and when moving especially, the durability is good. Both cars on the track the other day did fine. You do have to be careful as always with not scratching the mirror finish but because the plating process is extensive I think the chrome wheels are the most durable of the options above. Maybe even more durable than the original finish on the S-lites. you might call Platecorp and ask them about that.
Otherwise the other issue with chrome is the weight of the plating. Since the S-lites are already so heavy, I figure that set of chrome wheels is all for show and touring, not for racing so a quiet set of tires that are smooth and look good would be the best match. By the way the two MCS with chrome S-lites did well on the track. One had extensive mods (front strut bar, BMP intake, wires, header without cat-stock exhaust), the other was stock with sports/premium/leather options.
Can anyone else provide sources for power coating or anthracite?
