Everytime I saw this thread came up to the top, I thought it's time to make an order.

Don't worry - they're being made as I type this... Just talked to our supplier today.

The hang up on pre-ordering is that we want a set of our new lug nuts in hand before we place a big order for them - until we check them out in person, we're not going to pull the trigger on a big order of them. Our initial set should arrive today, and we're going to slap them on the test mule, check tolerances, etc.

Oh, I did forget to mention that your friendly neighbourhood Gorilla nuts distributor can get open end bulge nuts in both 14X1.5 and 12X1.5. 19mm and 21mm nuts both are available.

I can get the part numbers if needed, but it should not be too hard for people to find them. I know of no aluminum nut manufacturers in 14mm.

They're out there...

We may not have those right away, but we have a supplier for them... They'll have to make those, since they don't stock M14x1.5's though.

We'll be placing our order for lug nuts today... It's our first time working with this supplier, so we just want to make sure we actually get them before we post a pre-order. We should have them by the end of the week. We're buying extra M12x1.5 nuts in one style because we feel that there may be others out there that have already done a stud conversion and will want the nuts.

The stud supplier called earlier, and we're back in production. They're shipping on the 23rd, 1 day behind schedule because the owner of the company halted production on them - he walked down when the first few came out and didn't like the way their broach was cutting the hex head in the end (the allen insert used for stud installation). So, he ordered a new broach! First, we were impressed that he called us to let us know - and second, that they halted production because of the issue, until they received a better tool for the job...

For those of you that bought the NAM calendar, we'll DEFINITELY put the pre-order up before the end of the month so that you can take advantage of our special offer for January.

Sit tight - we're as excited to see them as you are...

My runflat is gone today, it might not be fixable.
I might need to have my new wheels set on asap.

you asked for it... :)

Our M14-M12 studs and M14 studs will be on the way to us this week... We've paired the M14-M12 studs with some JDM goodness, in the form of Muteki tuner nuts and Project KICS R26 Composite Racing Nuts...

Since we're offering our Track Prep Month special in the NAM calendar this month, we're allowing NAM'ers to pre-order our studs and lug nuts. We'll ship as soon as the studs come in...

http://www.txwerks.com/servlet/Categ...el+Accessories

The studs are made right here in the good 'ol USA - properly rolled threads, bullet-nose, hex head for easy installation, superior forged steel, and a nice, black finish. The M14-M12 studs convert from M14x1.25 to M12x1.5 - this setup allows '06 and GP owners to run current aftermarket wheels, rotors, and big brake kits... Our studs will work with up to a 10mm spacer.

The Muteki M12 lug nuts are super lightweight, locking, spline drive tuner nuts - in black. Made with cold-forged 1008 steel, which enables the nut to be made smaller and lighter - but, the strength matches or exceeds other nut specs. 36g a pop.

The Project KICS R26 Composite Racing Nuts are lightweight, locking, and superior to any aftermarket lug nut. A mere 26g each, they're made of cold-forged SCM-435 material, with a rotating T7075 seat with a rock-hard Alumite finish. Bulletproof? Yeah. Superior to alloy nuts? Heck yeah. Way, WAY stronger. If you're worried about weight and yet want the ultimate in strength - go R26 for the M14-M12 kit.

For the M14 stud conversions (M14x1.25 to M14x1.5), we're offering a chrome, tuner style, spline drive M14x1.5 lug nut... That's all that's out there!

We're offering the studs, studs with nuts, and other options on our website now.

I plan to go with the 14 - 12 conversion studs but will still be using the stock 14mm lug bolt GP wheels. Is either nut fine to use for the larger bolt hole wheel?

Also, how large of a wheel spacer can be used with the studs?
I would like to use a 10 or 15mm wheel spacer.

I recently switched from 17" 2004 s-lites on my 2004 mcs to 16" 2006 v-lites(new take-offs from a 2006 mcs). After less than a week of driving 3 of the lug nuts on one of my wheels loosened. Do I need to be concerned? Do I need different lug nuts? I'm confused about this whole topic of stud nut conversions. Did MINI change lug nut sizes in 2006. Sorry for the naive questions, but thanks for the help.

Yep - several GP owners have put their GP wheels on older MINIs just to see how they'd fit, and have had no problems. I think all of the stock MINI wheels have 16mm holes in them, regardless of the bolt size. My wife's car has 12mm bolts, and mine has 14mm bolts, and they both have identical stock wheels (webspokes).

With the 14->12mm conversion studs, TSW's description says they'll work with up to 10mm spacers.

No - the Muteki's have a standard 60 degree seat. The R26's have a rotating seat...
