Off season tire suggestions

Hi all, snow and ice are soon arriving here in Wisc and I'm putting up my '02 MCS in the garage for most of the winter, I'm looking ahead to the warmer weather and new perfomance tires. I am running anthraciteMotegi Trak Lite rims, 17x7JJ +42, with the stock suspension. I am currently running Yoko ES 100 215/40/17. Ive been happy with these tires, but currently they are slicks; pretty good in the warm/dry, but dangerous in the wet and cold .I drive aggressive on the street, both in wet and dry conditions. I tend do a few AutoXs a season, just for fun, but didnt this past yr. I would enjoy a track event this next yr. I enjoy the smaller rolling circumferance of the current tires for slight gearing purposes. (MSC '02 tranny remember ) If I had to do it again, I would likely get the same rim in a 15' ..anyone want to buy some nearly new lightweight rims?

I enjoy the look of a wider footprint, but does a 225 make that much of a difference in traction over a 205? The current tires, (215/40/17), leave a fair amount of unsightly room in the wheel wells.

Which tires would best fit my needs?

What is the range of tires sizes I could run on these rims with minimal rubbing?

any help? suggestions?

Thanks.

225- suffer compaired to 205's in deep snow.

215/45/17 would be a compromise size

Bridgestone Blizzak LM25

or
Michelien Pilot Sport PA2

2 very competent winters that mantain dry road handling performance.

Thanks for the reply Alex, but I'm lookin for tires that would be used for everything excluding snow weather...I guess the title of the thread is misleading.

Lookin for the best spring/ summer/ autumn tires. Performance in dry and wet.

Thanks

What do you want to improve over ES100?

Tread life without giving up perfomance. Cost isn't an issue.

Thanks

Rubber is allways a compromise, if that was possible the'd use 80k tires on racecars.

RE960 is the closest you'll get to that "ideal".
