Web Spokes clicking noise resolved?

I remember reading a while back about some people having a clicking noise with their web spoke wheels and at the time there didn't seem to be a fix for it. Just curious to know if this has been resolved since I haven't seen anything recently about it. Input from Web Spoke owners please!!!

Thanks mdsbrain. I had seen those threads but I still wasn't able to determine if there had been any resolution to the problem. I would really like to get those wheels but I don't want to have to deal with that clicking noise since I'm so obsessive about that sort of thing.

I also have them and have no clicking noise. I love mine as the inner part of the wheel is silver and it matches my silver roof.

BONUS: the space between the spokes are large enough for me to fit my hand in to clean off the brake dust from my stock pads

I have 500 miles on my car. I have never heard any clicking from anywhere. Delivery was 5-24-06.

Thanks for the responses. If it keeps looking this good I might have to check the Web Spoke box after all

Mine click, but only when the temps are high, as in high 80's and above. Since I live in N. Wisconsin, they haven't clicked this year yet.

When it gets warm out and my web spokes are still clicking, I'll take it in to the dealer and see what they say.

No clicking here

First, remember the problem only affects some webspoke owners...

I've had my webspokes for 15 months and 17k miles and haven't heard any clicking...

5200 miles and no clicks on my webspokes. I agree with sddave, its easy to clean behind them.

That's a good point of emphasize. As you can see there are a lot of non clicking web spokes out there. Just as a reference, they seem to start clicking when it gets hot and humid. A good way to hear them is to drive along a wall in a quiet area, like a drive thru or an alley. It sounds kinda like driving over a few dry leaves but its repeated at each revolution of the wheel. I went through two sets of clicking web spokes before i decided to ditch them altogether. I have been click free since.

I have not heard of a fix to date. But I do miss how easy they were to clean.

good luck

I have an '06 cooper s with the web spokes. I love them, no clicking to report. I kinda questioned whether or not to get them on my cooper s, but now I get lots of compliments on the wheels.

2005 MCS with Webspokes, just turned 28,800 miles and tomorrow is CoopahS first birthday! Never had a clicking noise with either set of tires.

Thanks guys. It sounds like it's hit or miss but is worse with heat and humidity. Luckily we have neither of those in Georgia I am hesitant to chance it so I may just try to work a deal on some R99's. Has anyone ever heard of a dealer giving some type of a credit for the S-Lites?

I can tell you here in the KC area, it is HOT and HUMID. Think hot wet towel wrapped around your head and try to breathe.

It's well into the 90's today and has been upper 80's to low-mid 90's for a couple weeks and I haven't heard a single click.

8 months old, 8500 miles.

clicking wheels

I have an 06 MCSa 3 mos. old just hit 2k miles and sure enough once the temp. hit in the 80s, I had the clicking. Although only one wheel is doing it. I only hear it when I've got the windows down and driving under 30mph.

I bought an MCS with Web Spokes in April '05 and I remember sometimes when I would hear the clicking while driving in the alley in my neighborhood. It was especially annoying when I had my windows down (and could thus hear it more distinctly). I haven't heard the clicking in a long time and in fact had forgotten about the issue. But, relatively early on I switched out of the runflats into lighter tires. Maybe there's some connection? Probably not, just interesting to wonder what the real deal is. Agreed the Web Spokes look really sharp on the MINI.
