SS Brake Line Tutorial

I am going to have stainless steel brake lines installed but before I go to my local Mini dealer and wacked I thought I would ask if anyone has posted a good tutorial on bleeding the brake system, removing the stock lines, installing the new SS lines and replacing the brake fluid. I am not a mechanic and have never done any brake work except to change pads and brake bushings along with other similar type mods throughout the car. I noticed the post section on brakes has over 133 pages and the search engine on NAM doesn't work that well so if anyone can remember a good thread/tutorial on the subject please point the way and thanks alot!

Some key things to remember....

it's no big deal, but make sure the resivoir doesn't go dry....

And clean off any leaked brake fluid right away. This isn't a hard job... but it is a bit messier because you open the lines.

Also, I've found that I needed to bleed the brakes more than once. I'd bleed, then go drive for a bit (seemed to knock off little bubbles from inside the caliper) and then go bleed again to get the last air out. Nothing hard, but don't be surprised if you need to do the same thing...

Best fluid for cleaning off the brake fluid on the caliper or fittings: Water.
