My Third set of wheels and tires!

I am too anxious to show em off! but i hvaent taken her around the block on em yet... hopefully monday!

they are kumho ecsta V710s 215/40-16s on relatively low budget BSA 303 wheels.... it does require a 3mm spacer to be fitted before it will clear the wilwood's calipers... but im happy with the purchase... can't wait to try em out around the block!

there's a ridiculous amount of wheelgap now, but obiviously when i go from a 215/45-17 to a 215/40-16... it is to be expected... load rating is my only concern.... but seeing people are running lower than stock load rating im not too worried... but should i be?

I think the different from 215/45/17 to 215/40/16 is pretty extreme, you are looking at a diameter difference of 7.48%. At 100km/h you are looking at 8km/h+ different. That means when your speedometers is at 100km/h, you are actually going at 108km/h+. Anything over 3% is pretty extreme. The wheels are hot thou!!

isn't that backward? when the speedo reads 100km/h he's actually going slower than indicated because he's got a larger diameter tire than stock.

it bothers me a little when my stock 205/40-17 slites shows that my car is going 60mph and my gps shows me going ~58mph.

The dealership told me that the speedo is calibrated for the stock 15" tires and because of all the wheel options available that they just allow 5% variance in the readout. If it's more than that then they'll investigate what's wrong with my MINI

will do, i have pics on my cell cam, but ill have to upload them tonight..

im not too concerned about the speedo reading as these are dedicated track tires... and rpm is my only concern at that stage...

the v710s are really grippy though, i mounted them today (i wasnt planning to ) for my autocross and it was phenomenol.... initially they grip okay, similar to my current summer setup, but the acceleration is defenitely more brisk, and it grips like no tire ive driven on, even when pushed there's only mild chirps...

At first those look like the enkei rpf1's with a polished lip. How much do they weigh? Looks great!
