I just purchased some Rota Slipstreams in flat black 16x7" 13.9lb to have for summer wheels. I didn't get tires with them as I cannot afford the rubber right now.

So what size tire should I get on these?
My car is dropped 1" on H-sport springs if it matters. I want tires that are good for all around use.
Also a suggestion on a tire would help. I really want High performance all-seasons so I can keep the wheels on past the warm months if need be. I am considering the BFGoodrich Gforce KDW2s

With the 1" drop I wouldn't go any wider than a 215. To maintain your speedometer accuracy, go with a 215/45-16Originally Posted by mdsbrain

Interesting size. I guess I should of mentioned a few friends told me to so 225/50 - 16. I'm kind of new to buying tires without the wheels from the same place.

You might be able to get 225/45R16's in there (they do make the KDW in that size), but 225/50R16's are too tall...
205/50R16 would also be a good choice... There aren't very many tire choices in 215/45R16, so that's kinda out...
I run 225/50R15's for autocross and track and they barrrrrrely fit on a +40 ET. They're slightly bigger and wider than 225/45R16's.

I run 225/45/16s on 16x7.5 SSR comps. Some very minor trimming of the fender liner was required for clearance on the rears. A while back I read of someone running 225/50/16 on the track - that being a popular size for race rubber. It would certainly be tight. As others have mentioned, the next smaller viable size seems to be 205/50/16 due to lack of selection.
I have looked around and plan to get the BF Goodrich G-force T/A KDW2
in 225/45. They don't make this tire I want in 50 so I will go 45. But as some of you have said the 225 might rub and 215 won't.
Choices...choices..Some minor fendor trimming is no problem to me.

mdsbrain, money well spent on the Rota's, best bang for the buck IMHO.
Interested to hear if that size will rub or not with your H Sport 1" drop. That is a great tire from what I hear BUT it is a warm weather only rubber compound. The traction will start to go away the colder it gets, they will be worthless on snow or ice. Have a look at http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....tnum=15WR6EASX
You didn't mention the offset???

norm03s the offset for the wheels is 40.
As for traction on snow and ice I plan to keep my all-season runflats on my R99s for a bit of that. They still have prob a good 10k left on them.
