will 15x7 with a 27 offset rub?

i have a set of 27 offset 15x7 with 205/50/15 Ra-1 from my another car, i wonder if i can fit them on my 04 MCW without any rubbing?

personally, i think it won't rub at stock suspension, however what about with some H-sport spring? because i am thinking of getting a set, and i know they lower about 1" and i am thinking to use the stock strunt. will it rub with the H-sport spring?

any advice will be appriciated.

Thanks

yes, will rub and will most likely prematurely wear out your wheel bearings too.

Yes, not a good idea to go to that extreme of an offset. Unless of course the car isn't yours and you're looking to find out how quick you can (A) deform the fenders with the tires, or (B) trash the wheel bearings. In that case, I'd say you'll get to A before B.

Firstly, thanks for all he quick response, How fast will it wear out my wheel bearing, i decided to run in stock suspension. the reason why i am trying to use such a low offset of rims is because i have a set in my garage, and they are almost 95% new and i don't want to waste them. but if it will really screw up my wheel bearing then i should really not use the wheels, by the way, i am just planing to put them on the day before the trackday and take them out after the trackday and use it for a about 4 trackdays,

pls let me know.

It will very likely (and quickly) screw up your wheel bearings. Nearly new wheels are tough to waste, but I'd suggest you sell them for whatever you can get, and stay with stock rims until you can afford what you like with proper offset.

well. in this case i don't think 3mm will be anything much better, since normal offset for our mini should be somewhere around 38 to 45.

15x7 is mondo agressive. Where there's a will there's a way.

you mean its agressive with those ET's or just agressive by itself?

I have run my 15x7s on a lowered car without any issues so far.

Alex, you might be the only one able to answer this question: will 225/50's (or 45's) fit on a 15x7 rim with an offset of +40-42? There are several of us who have shown interest in that size on Konig Rewinds (+40) but nobody is really able to do a test fit.

Usually observed issues at suspension travel when we testfit. Tire size is also a factor.

I have seen 225/45 on 15x7 et 35. this tire is so short in diameter - your able to get away with it. 50's are getting closer to mod-land.

Please excuse my ignorance....but what would the difference be between a 15x7 and a 17x7 in terms of suspension travel?

I was hoping to buy some coilovers soon and wanted to lower it a bit more than my H&R springs have lowered it. I am running 205/50/15 and it doesnt appear that they could ever rub....but will i run into issues? (15x7 et40 205/50/15)

15x7 225/45/15 has a short overall diameter 22.9 inches making it easier to clear

205/50's will fit with most offsets.

Small numeric offsets - relative to the stock offset - can cause lots of problems, premature ballbearing failure being one. From a performance perspective, this offset will surely cause some very odd steering torques especially on bumpy roads. Imagine looking down on the footprint pattern the Mini's tires make - tracks if you will. Every car's track wanders a bit left to right as the suspension moves up and down - in and out with respect to the car's center line. Because this smaller numeric offset pushes the tire farther from center, the tire moves thru a larger arc as it moves up and down. This creates a very wavy track pattern as this tire crawls over and into bumps. This will create all sorts of nasty tugs on the steering as the track width changes dramatically - dramatic is being used in a relative way.

Camber is affected, scrub radius is affected, Ackerman angle is affected the list goes on. Don't venture too far below 40mm offset. I think 45mm offset is stock...you're nearly 3/4" farther out per wheel. You've increased the track by 1.5". That's a lot! Of course, if you want to change everyhting else, well, have at it.
