It was good to OZ USA, such a shame, but it is a free market, now we have to get what is offered
I'm saying you can order the 17x7 WRC in the USA, direct from OZ. They are $210 each and they are in stock right now. See link. As for Tire Rack, they're good, but their customer service could use some improvement and their prices are not quite as good as some far smaller competitors, which makes me think the biggest kid on the block could figure out they could crush the competition by having the lowest prices. They just need to use Wal-mart as their template.

Tirerack is still my favorite wheel/tire store. and considering that
ive easily spent over $15k at their store over the years, i can say
that i have ample experience..and continue to be a returning customer
for many great reasons that i've posted before on other threads.

Steve, are you sure, OZ USA is located in Florida, end they stopped their operations in last December and Tirerack took over the deal.

I've never ordered from it, but that website is updated all the time with changes to inventory (in stock or out of stock). It's changed many times this CY. They have contact info...probably would be worth contacting them before ordering just to be sure. It would be very irresponsible of them to keep that website open if no longer in service. Hope that's not the case.

I've bought 1 replacement tire and a set of Koni FSDs from Tire Rack in my lifetime. Both good experiences. If it weren't for the fact that I tend to trade cars before the tires wear out, I'd probably have more Tire Rack experiences. Case in point I'm ordering a BMW M Coupe, and my MINI with 5,000 miles will probably be sacrificed in a year (need it to get me through next winter first).

i see.

yeh, there was a guy one time that wasn't good... forgot his name.
"buddy?" or "guy" or some generic name like that. It was on a day
Alex was not there. He was asking some dumb newb questions about
my account and it annoyed me.

but overall, tirerack's been my favorite tire/wheel store thus far.
perhaps Alex is making all the difference. ive also delt with Luke
in the past and he's pretty cool too.

Actually that ain't bad for the size, and compared to s-lites, do not forget, a stronger structure is going to take the potholes and curbs more forgiving, on the other side if you are concerned about the weight, there is the SSR comps, Motegi Traklites, and million $ BBSs. 20ibs, is not too bad. Dress them with GSD3s or S03s, you will stick like glue

Have you ever lived anywhere other than San Antonio? I live there from 88 to 92, then from 99 to 02. I had a RX-7, E46 3 series, and a Ducati during those times. I couldn't get anything to stick that slick pavement, especially the duc on ultra-sticky Pirellis, then Dunlops. What's your secret?

on my ducs, i always used Metzlers or Pirelli Corsas and dropped the rear tires to 180 from 190s (especially on my 998s made a positivie change), and on the other side, never liked wet since i was on Superbikes instead of touring.

20lbs isn't too bad, but I'm running x-lites and I was hoping for something at least around 16lbs or so. They do like significantly better than the x-lites though...

The only 17's WRC's in the US program are 5-100 & 4-108. If they had a 4-100 US market wheel, I'd have it on order allready. Sorry my service doesn't measure up. I do the best I can with what I am dealt.

Not your fault...but how can OZ or any other mfg not recognize the importance of the USA in the world market? Everything should be available there. Must be the NASCAR-loving populace that keeps spoiling things for the real race fans...

Actually, I was referring to the slick dry pavement. No doubt the worst gripping roads I've ever driven/riden on, wet or dry, and especially wet. That goes for the hill country too. But what can you expect in that climate? I know I'm spoiled from growing up in NC. At least that tobacco tax was good for something.

I had a BCM-prepared 853-kitted 748S. Spent way too much on all the mods over the years. Owned it 8 years and sold it last April. It was worth thousands more over here than in the US so I had to let it go. Grew up riding Kawasaki two-stroke triples in the 70s, so I'll source a mint H1 or H2 when I get back to the States. Nothing on earth sounds as good as a Kawasaki triple with expansion chambers. The H2 I had in the 80s would scare most modern bike riders...powerband was like a light switch. Maybe I'll get another modern bike too, but not a Ducati again. Probably will go with an Aprilia RSV Mille R. A little more reliable than Ducati when adult owned.

I do not like the Aprilia seats. But agree on reliability issues
