Exel wheels or ACE wheels, anyone?

Does anyone have either of these companies wheels installed on theri mini's, I am curious what they look like on our cars. I was looking at the Arius by ACE and the Radius by Exel. Any pics would be helpful, and i have already looked through all 84 pages of the show your wheels thread.
Thanks

Both companies are the sort of bottom of the barrel of the wheel world.
But, if you like that certain style and you're on a strict budget,I would suggest the Flik Artic, avail in black/polish, anthracite/polish and silver/polish in 17 and 18 in sizes. Flik is a company a lot of MINI owners trust for there wheels, just look at everyone's Flik Wasps! Also the Flik Fuel is pretty sweet, but not a mesh wheel look.

Here is a link to the Artics:

http://www.edgeracing.com/wheels/flik/

Good luck, and take your time choosing wheels, just don't skimp on tires!

Everyone has their perceptions, but Exel wheels are JWL approved, and I've beaten the crap out of the 3 sets I've had with no problems. They may not have brand equity, but they're strong, light, and look good.

they are entry level....no doubt. They are amazing looking wheels, but the fact of the matter is that they are at the bottom of the wheel world/hiearchy.

Some folks buy wheels because they like the way they look and don't really give a rat's sphincter about status. Are the wheels safe? Are they round? Are they reasonably light? Do they fit? Do I like the way they look?

For lots of folks, those are the things that matter. Not hierarchical rankings of irreleventia. It's all a matter of horses for courses. If the wheels do what you want them to do, why would anyone else's opinion matter?

Bottom Line? Entry Level? What are you guys talking about? My Exel Radius' are holding up great on my Twincharged MCS!

And you can tell by the tread on the tires.

You can say they are bottom of the line. I don't care. I was ATTENPMTING to give you crap. The fact is...for $900 for a set of 18"'s (wheels, tires, mounting and balancing) that I have just abused since I got them, They have been holding up nice. I would probably order another set.

thats all pretty much common sense. Did i say someone had to care if they were entry level or not? My wheels are entry level too....but i use them because they work well and look good (in my opinion)

The truth is, it doesn't. It doesnt matter if people don't like them, and it doesnt matter if people do like them. I never said it did. All i was saying is that they are indeed entry level. They will never compete with the crafstmanship and finish of HRE or iFORGED wheels....it just wont happen. Sure they work well and get the job done, but they are entry level.

I don't see that there is entry level or professional level for wheels, but in types, like street type, performance type and racing type.

I know the MINI will NEVER get a set of HRE's or IFORGED's. That is reserved for my 3 series. I would tear those things up! And then I would NOT be a happy camper.

I agree, but I don't know much about wheels besides the styles I like.

Question, so say you have a set of "entry-level" wheels and a set of expensive performance wheels, of the same exact size, weight, and have the same tires mounted. Will you really notice a difference in perforomance? Just wondering.

If they were the exact size weight, distribution etc....of course not. But you could tell a difference in finish and crafstmanship, but performance would be the exact same. Its a very subtle difference....but if you look at a pair of Konigs next to a pair of HRE's you will certainly be able to tell which one is "higher level"

...

One of my buddies has a pair of exel wheels which are copies of the HP Evo's, and if you put them next to the HP the finish is not as good, the exels are way worse than the HP. The exels look nice from far, and the HP's dont look so perfect either. I am not flaming on any one with exels so dont go crazy on me. But one day if you get bored go look at a set of superlegerras and the exel copies, and the SSR gt3 and the exel copies and then tell me about finish. You get what you pay for. But since they are heavy (ussually) they are damn strong. When it comes to wheels though, most of the tuner brans are the same, they are just rebagded. Te exels are not made be wheel max, just the name is owned by them.
