What about spacers?
If larger tires in the back are "bad", then are spacers bad? I was thinking of going after this guy's idea....

Here he mentions the wheel specs:

He has 66mm spacers in the back and 18mm in the front... eek. I think I'd rather have really wide rims than have that large of spacers. Just sounds dangerous to me. Maybe I'm way off... Alex?
I'd love to get a body kit looking like that, probably the same one, but I'd have single pipes on each side. I like the smoothing of the bumpers and fenders.

If you have wheels with standard offset you shouldnt have problems. If you space the wheels out it changes offset.Various problems will ocur such as wheel bearing wear, increased steering effort, tramming on rutted pavement.I would stay with factory offset.
Spacers increase tramline effects.
I had 20mm spacers on the front and 5mm on the back, when I was running a Brembo kit, with stock S-Lites. I bought the car that way, as the aftermarket wheels that were on it were sold separately.

What's your goal?
Do you want a "look", than if so, heck with what's "good" or "bad" for handling and wear.
Do you want handling, then you'll get a different outcome.
If you want safety, you'll stay away from spacers all together...

Just keep in mind that the "performance" people are always going to criticize the decision. I'm one of them, and think it's pointless, but if you like it you'd might as well go for it.

Heh tram-lining is dangerous in wet or icy/wet conditions, and excessive wheel bearing wear aint gunna be covered by warranty when they see wheels that have been spaced out excessively.Proper offset regardless of wheel size or width is not really an option or opinion thats why when you talk to a reputable shop they will advise you to stick with standard offset. They dont want liability of improper offset advice. As far as spacers are concerned a # of suppliers have recalled or got out of spacers because of wheel detachments.Again its a safety issue.
