Etched wheels?

Ever since seeing these wheels at Edge Racing:

I've wanted them. Edge Racing listed them as in-stock with a very good price, but they shipped something else instead, and when I called to complain, they said 'These wheels are no longer available with etching, as there was a problem with the clearcoat ont he etching'.

The etching was what sealed the deal for me... Well, the price too... But I don't want/like the plane-jane look of the wheels without the etching:

Does anyone know of other wheels of similar design? I've checked TireRack, Wheelmax, 1010tires, importhookup, and quite a few other sites... But neither them, nor Google seem to turn up any results.

I'm surprised they're still using that picture. I bought a set of those wheel in the anthracite color probably a year ago and they weren't supplying the ones with the polished ring painted like that back then.

Now the anthracite ones that go so well with my DS car are backordered forever, too.

Those are kinda kinda neat. I'd like if the pattern wasn't so plain though.

The original wheel of this style was the Volk F-Zero Challenge wheel

After many years on the market, I'm almost certain it's been discontinued and replaced with the SF Challenge, which is similar, but a lot different.

I'm guessing the $4-500/wheel pricetag isn't what you're looking for though.

I don't know of any others off the top of my head.

Not quite.

The non-etched ones were what they sent, though the spokes are black like the etched one... Just without the etching on the lip.
Those Volk F-Zeros are neat too.

You could teach yourself etching - I think there's a Dummys Guide

Power coating pattern, mmmm? Sounds a bit cheesy or too expensive.

What do you guys think about this?

Not etched, but dark & unique!

Ooooo.. Found something closer... But not quite the 'keen' edge racing design:

http://www.speedywheels.com/motorsport.htm

Called em, and they said they're the maker/wholesaler, and to call WheelsNext. I said WheelsNext didn't have em on their site, and they said call them anyway, they can get them. Hmmm...

Not quite it, but the hunt continues!

the second set looks more like your original desire.

I was following a thread from mini owners in Hawaii and it seems full powder coating runs about $129 per wheel. A little research and I came up with:

"High temperature masking material is applied or silicon plugs are inserted to protect areas that should not be coated" from a company that does powder coating. So apparently it is possible.

But I really like the etched pattern and think it would really compliment your "style"

Wish you luck

Another from WheelsNext. (The Velox are there too).

Looks like hope is not yet lost!

Went through every single site linked on http://www.tuninglinx.com/html/wheels.html too. My mouse hand hurts.

$899 each is a mighty high price for individuality - IMO

I think the "each" in this case is a package of four wheels and tires. For $899 each you'd better be getting something forged, and probably handmade, such as HRE.

No etching except for the company logo... Me no likey etched company logos.

I'm really liking those Volex wheels tho. Very 'Batmini' like methinks, though they seem to weigh the same as the S-lites.

individuality is hard in this price range!?!?!?!?!?!...........

what is ur price range??
no etchin' but who needs it when u got nipples JK /..........wat about this
