Dilemma between ASA Ar1 and R90 Replica

Hello NAMers
Help me out a little here ... !
I'm planning to drop x-lites when my runflats go bald. I think it will happen sometime between next summer...!

Well HerE I go.

ASA Ar1 , Licensed by BBS, made in S. Korea, weighs 21 Pounds I believe. There can be bought from Tirerack for 179 per rim and $195 shipped.

R90 Replica, Imitation of R90 from MINI, Made in Italy by a company who makes alot of different replicas for different cars. These weighs 22 pounds, $180 shipped.

I love both wheels. They are both single piece, spokes, etc..
AR1 was on my list until I saw pictures of a MCS with R90 replica.

Lend me a hand here and help me decide on this...

ASA AR1

R90 Replica

from a cosmetic standpoint, most definitely the R90 replica's.

but ease of purchase, ASA's. since you have until next summer,
i'd get the R90 replicas for sure.

Can you post a link or contact info for the R90 Replicas? Do you know if they can be had in other colors? I love the R90's but don't feel like throwing that kind of money at my dealer. Thanks.

ASA Ar1 or R90 Replica

Just my two cents worth, I have the Ar1 in black with the machined lip and
I would'nt change for anything. They are on a 2006 Astro Black MCS and
for my money they complete the look. The quality of the paint is excellent
and they are blemish free.

i have to say that to me the AR1 has a better look. The Ar1 is a copy of the classic BBS style rim, and the R90 looks like a *sort-of* copy of that.

I had planned on getting a set of AR1's until i found a great deal on a set of bronze rota C8's (one of my favorite rims)

Of course, either way, they both look great!

R90's aren't copies of anything. they are wat they are, a R90 mesh type 2pc
wheel.

Well
I am not 100% sure if it's Route's replica but I've placed an order for a single R90 replica today. We will see if it's good enough

I will take some pictures and such if anyone is interested.

sprp85- i called the store that sells the R90 replicas and they just sold out of
them for the entire US...

they won't be producing any more until May2006 so you won't be
seeing your other 3 anytime soon.

hehe. jk

They are still available in Australia....but it'd be an expensive option for you....

See This Post

If you go to the link in that post about ebay, some one from the US has already asked about ordering them from here:

"AU$395 foor to door.. AU$195 door to your nearest intl airport.. "

Perhaps you could call them and order them directly from Italy...?

I did order a rim which is made in italy also with exact same spec as route's.

The vendor told me that they are not sure which brand it is but it looks exactly like routes (i showed them pictures of routecompany's..)

I will see in a few days

Well I have received My R90 replica today.

I was not expecting it to be one of the Routecompany's replica and I was correct.

But anyhow, the quality and the look seems to be outstanding..!!!
It has polished lips like route's, finish seems to be really good.

Picture says thousand words..

Polished lips aren't showing pretty well because pictures was taken in my room, I will try to take some better pictures tomorrow if anyone requests.

What do you guys think ?

If they are not route who are they?? What did the boxes say on them??

I emailed Ruotecompany and the gave me an awesome deal, problem is getting them shipped from Itlay will cost me more than the wheels !!!

Anyone have any international shipping connections? The raw cost is super cheap !!!!
