wet driving
I am a can't wait for March guy... with Feb. 7 estimated build date. I need to make the final decision regarding the 17" runflats. Either Performance or All season. I am not particularly concerned with the economics of the Runflats. I am interested in how the tires will perform in only 2 environments. Dry and Wet. I will not be driving my MC S in snow. It will be in a warm garage staying clean and safe when it snows here in Missouri. That is what SUVs are for!
According to the dealer, I will get either Dunlop or Pirelli for the performance and either Dunlop or Goodyear for the all season.
So will the performance tires be comparable to the all season in the wet. I know that they will be better in the dry.

As a rule of thumb performace tires will be better in water conditions than allseasons. These performace tires don't have snow to cope with, and water is the worst they see. Having a narrower scope of focus lets them be more proficent.

My Dunlop all seasons are some of the best tires I've ever had in the wet (I'm sure the MINI's handling has something to do with that though). Their dry traction leaves something to be desired. If Dan@tirerack says the summer tires are even better in wet I'd go for those.
Dan, if you make it back to this post. is their a summer runflat in 16" for the MCS?

The only runflats I handle are Dunlop and Goodyear in 195/55/16. All three of this are designated all seasons. The sportiest I would give to the 5000 in V rating or the 3000 in V rating.

Dan,
Are the Toyo T1-S available for the MINI in 17"?
I ran those for years (bought from you) and They channeled water great!
I want to buy a set for my MCS.

Do the performance tyres - All season from what I've read are just for that. If you have no worries about snow, then go with the performance. I've been on the Pirelli's and have had lots of fun along with performance. I get lots of rain, but no real snow. IMO
