White Wheels! yes/no/pics

White wheels would work with the MINI's white roof, but some think silver is the only way to go. May I see pics of your white wheels, please? What are the good/bad things you have experienced with them? Is it too "ghetto tuner"? Do I have to put more stickers and carbon fiber on with them just to make them work ( )?

Thanks for the help!

Very true. Here's my take...if you think white wheels would look good...get 'em. Forget the brake dust and the cleaning and all the rest. Do it and don't look back!

I have silver wheels and I clean 'em all the time anyway. You may want to be sure to keep them well waxed/Zaino'd/Klasse'd...but if you like the look then its all about the love, baby and its best not to overthink it...just jump in and adapt your cleaning regimen as needed. It'd be worth it, imo!

I have white wheels on an 04 MCS and love them.

I have white wheels on an 04 MCS and love them. I got ASA LW5's. Would have preferred the Mini 83's in white but they are more expensive. If you wax the wheels then the brake dust doesn't stick as much.

Yes, IMHO it is the "classic" look for a Mini.

15x6 white minilites

took too long for me to clean my old asa lw5s, cause they got too many spokes with small nooks and crannies. these minilites are much easier to clean, much like the s-lites.

Yeah, the factory wheels look great! And I sure wish that blue was available when I ordered!

Running aftermarket 17s or 18s in white, in a more aggresive stance is what I guess I'm looking for. Ryephile's look great, but I can't just steal that setup (Exel TZ-10 18").

I suppose in the end I'll just do what I will, but if anyone has any good white wheel pics, I would love to see 'em!

-Thanks!

Let me clean mine up and I'll post a pic soon. I love 'em, even if they do get dirty quickly.

Simple guide to choosing wheel color.

Ask yourself: If I were to go play basketball right now-- what kind of socks would I wear?

If you answer white tube socks then buy white wheels.
If you answer black socks then buy black wheels.
If you answer socks don't matter just as long as the kicks are tight then get some blinging chromies.

I saw these pictures somewhere, I think the owner is on the forum. The car makes me wish I had gotten a white roof

Get the white wheels...they look great

We got the white wheels on our '05 Cooper-S...they look great, just keep them clean. Rednwhitecoopers car doesn't look ghetto tuner either.

i must say, the while wheels on a MINI with a matching roof really look good. not sure there is any other car that can pull it off that well.

i have a set of white SSR GT1's that i use as track wheels. the only reason i got them in white is because they were $50 cheaper each than the silver ones. i'm really happy with the way they look. it gives my MINI a much better MINI look when i'm at the track. these days i see fewer and fewer MINI's there. gotta represent. on the bad note. using track pads white wheels are so dirty after only a 30 min track session that people think they are silver. i can not imagine having white wheels on my daily driver. i wash my car every sunday and the wheels take longer than the paint. i have kosie K1's as my daily drivers and they are easy to clean because they are so roomie inside. when i had the s-lites it took 15 mins a wheels minimum.

if your not going to track your car or be that aggressive of a driver you might want to consider the brake dust shields. lots of merc's use them. they keep the dust from even getting to the wheel but hinder cooling bad.

BRG w/ white roof w/ 17" black mesh polished lip wheels...looks killer, my opinion only, but most think it looks very clean. Go black and don't go back!!!! Later

white wheels

I have Volk TE 37 17" forged
15 lbs - easy to clean
Goodyear F1 GS-d3 215-45 / 17

Color is not as important as an easy to clean design, IMHO

Next time you get together with a group of MINI owners play "swap the wheels". Find some you like, put a front and rear on your car and then you can see how it looks. My guy at Discount Tire ordered the tires and wheels I thought I wanted, mounted one tire, put it on my MCS, and said do you want them or not? I did not have to take them but swap the wheels sounds easier.

Here are a couple pictures of my 04 MCS, one with the stock white S-Lites and one with some new white Ro-Ja LT5 wheels.

Well, I jsut finished claying and waxing Lolas wheels. I figure since they were brand new, it is the best shot I had at keeping them white. I am guessing I will have to take them off every 4-6 weeks to clean the backs so brake dust doesn't build up on them. I know they will be alot of work, but they are worth it in appearance.
