Bottom line...Will OZ SuperLeggara 17"'s(37mm offset) w 205/45/17 Tires rub once my M7 springs are installed, I've found conflicting info on different threads.

I'm running 17" Superleggera's with 215/45/17's w/H&R springs and a large rear swaybar.

I have no rubbing issues currently. I'm running stock rear arms though, and I think there's a chance I might if I were to zero the camber out in the rear.

You're proposing narrower tires which is good, but softer springs which isn't. If I had to guess I'd say you'll be ok. I know my setup isn't really comparable, but maybe it'll help.

Sorry, I was wrong. I realized today that my tires are 40 series, not 45.

205/40 is very short in diameter, and low in load capacity. I doubt it will rub, but its TOO short for the vehicle. 205/45 or 215/45

Maybe, but we're talking about 215, not 205.

I would argue, however, that because of the tall gearing of the MCS, a smaller diameter can be a good thing.

I need help too, I'm running 17" OZ Superleggras with Yok ES100s 215/45/17 on H-Sport Springs ('05 MCS). Having running problems at the rear (even after a fender liner trim). What should I go for? 215/40/17 or 205/45/17. There is not much choice in the 205/45/17, but if the ES100s will fit for sure then i'll go for them again (no-way will I run Pradas).

any help is greatly appreciated.

thanks

Amit

It depends on the shape of the tire. Yoko ES100's, for example, have a very square shoulder and are more likely to rub than the same size Yoko Parada Spec-2 (which has a rounder shoulder, and btw is a stickier tire in the dry, but not the wet) Overall, you'll be ok - you may have some rubbing but not a major issue with the 205/45-17 size. Also note that if you start camber correcting for lowering the car, you'll increase rubbing in the back.

Cheers,
Ryan

thanks

I'll be mounting 17" superleggeras with 215/40 Falken RT615s on Monday so I'll post results if there is any chance of rubbing.

I went with 18"s!

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Fedex lost one of my wheels for three days. So with the extra time to think and research, I sent back the 17"s and ordered 18"s. It seems that with the 42 offset of the 18"s, there will likely be less problems..not to mention more bling. I will post pics and results of the decision later this week. I hope I made the right choice.
