215/55/16 tires

Has anyone run these on 16" X 7" wheels? Any clearance problems? I'd like to run these as my street set up.

I think my wintersetup is 205/55/16, maybe 215, the car is in for service and I won't get it back 'til tomorrow so I can't check before then.

Don't know the width of the weel but it's the stock x-lites(?)

215/55/16 will more then likely rub the inner wall of the fenderwell the stock size is a 195/55/16

We are running 205/50/16 and have no rubbing

best of luck to ya

I've been told that 215/45/16s work (and will probably autocross with those). But I haven't heard from anyone if the taller and wider than stock 215/55s will. I'd like the taller side wall for street driving and the 215s to take advantage of the 7" wheel.

215/55-16 is outside the recommended ±3% variation from stock.

When your speedo reads 60 MPH you will be traveling 62.1 MPH.

I'm not concerned with speedo error, I'm concerned about clearance/rubbing issues.

That 3% translates into almost 1 inch taller diameter.

I'm considering running a 205/55/16 on a +42 offset wheel.

So what's the verdict ? Will this size cause any problems?

So, would 215/50/16 be the ideal size to obtain a wider track, but keep the diameter correct?

Randy says 205/55 might work, 205/50s will work. 215/45s apparently will work.

Lefty
My mini is lowered 1.5 " all around I auto-x with the 215/45-16s 42 offset no rub issues. So if yours is stock 1.5" taller and you run 215/55s same width,1" taller and .5" more clearance than mine.

I also run 215/45/16 (picking up a new set tomorrow) Azenis on a 16x7 ROTA wheel with no issue's at all. And i ran them stock height and lowered with H&R springs.
