Tire Size???

If I go to a Konig Imagine 17" wheel, what would be the best fit for Yoko Parada Spec 2"s, 205/45/17 or 215/45/17. Do I need spacers, etc? I need some help. Thanks

The 215-45s I can't tell ya if you need spacers or hub rings. But the tires are right.

i dont remember the offset for konig image, but as long as it is within 40mm to 48mm, you shouldn't need them

205/45 and 215/45 both will fit perfectly..

Konig Imagine comes in 17x7" et 40mm 4x100 bolt pattern
According to tirerack.com your options for sizes are:
205/40-17 23.5" outer tire diam. Fits 7-8" rims, perfect for 7.5" rim,$85
205/45-17 Perfect fit for 7" wide rim 24.3" outer diam= stock tire size $96
215/40-17 23.9" outer diam. Fits 7-8.5" rims, perfect for 7.5" rim, $96

I'd suggest the perfect fit stock tire size of 205/45-17.
No spacers needed. Tires will fit for stock suspension or 1" lowered MINI.
You can confirm this with alex@tirerack.com.

Second choice would be 215/40-17.

Discount Tire quoted 215/40ZR-17's Yoka Parada Spec-2's on the Konig Imagine 17 X 7's and also included 4 rubber/chrome sleeves. Are those the spacers and will the 40's fit? I think I need Alex.

I use 215/45-17’s with no rubbing problems at all on my 17 X 7 wheels. I use no spacers but do have hub rings. The hub rings are to compensate for the size difference of the hub diameter of the MINI and the wheel you wish to use.

If your MINI is lowered then the 40mm offset might be a problem even with the 215/40-17 tires. I know of one MCS with H-sport springs and that sized tire that rubs but only on the track with heavy cornering, otherwise not much rubbing. He uses 17x7 rims with +42mm offset.

For my 215/45-17 tires and MCS with H-sport springs I get rubbing only in the back with a few passengers in the rear seat or with heavy cornering. I did recently try 32 psi in the front tires and 38 psi in the rear and that helped the rubbing a little. I have 17x7 rims with +42mm offset.

If you MINI has stock springs then you should be fine and not rub, tires will fit the 17x7 rims but the load rating on the 215/40-17 tires is marginally low for 4 people. If you routinely carry a full load in your MINI and want to be safe then 205/45-17 would be a better choice. If you usually have one or two people in your MINI only then it's OK.

Thanks for the info. The MCS is NOT lowered but that will be the next step, so the 45's would be the correct ones?

Did Discount Tire give you a delivery date on the Konig Imagines?? When I inquired in Jan they were out of stock and indicated on BO from the mfg for 4-5 weeks.

FWIW: I called DTD about these rims about 2 weeks ago. No known delivery date was what I was told. Send them an e-mail, see what they say about time frames.
I changed my mind and went with Enkei RPM2 from Whalentire.com. +45 offset and a better choice for me. I too am planning on lowering.

Hope this helps...
