Stud conversion help

Hello guys. Just purchased these 20pcs Black Wheel Stud Conversion - 12x1.5 to 12x1.5, 33mm Shank Length - Compatible with many BMW Vehicles: 128i 135i 318i 320i 325i 328i 335i M3 525i 528i 530i 535i M5 Z3 Z4 E36 E46 E60 E90 E92 E93
Amazon Amazon

i started installing them in the rear. I followed directions on how to do stud conversions. Used red loctite.
but when i started to torque them i noticed the studs kept on going. It just keeps on poking through the back.

is this because the studs dint come with a stopper like the other studs ?

so i backed it out and made it flushed ( from the back ) I’m sure the torque from the lug nuts will hold them in place anyway.

should i be concerned with this set up?

Thank You

Thats weird they didnt come with a stopper. I had to check and mine did. Maybe because they aren't Mini specific? - https://myredmini.com/wheel-stud-conversion-completed/

Don't go cheap on these! If they break big things happen. Get a quality set that fit right.

i see all the not so cheap ones looks exatcly the same with no stopper. So the question is. Does it have to be torqued down?

Make sense. Need the flange stopper type.

weird though because the ones they sell for mini ones some sites don’t have a stopper

Welcome, glad to help, measure the length stud you have that will fit with the cap nut. Make sure it does not top out. Otherwise just run ours and the nuts, you have aftermarket wheels so if the factory lugs fit, our nuts will also.

ECS Tuning stud kits: https://www.ecstuning.com/News/MINI_Wheel_Stud_Conversion_Kits_26490/

Our shortest length for your can is 56mm length. Your cap ones you have i dont know how much room there is? As to engage the extended nuts on the wheel properly seated.

You could just run them as a kit we have and have the track car look. Chrome or black finish nuts.

There should be enough room. 56mm is around 2.2” lug nuts seems tall

Stud length 67mm total, 56mm is the total thread length(wheel and car side), 49mm thread length on wheel side(shank length)

So you have to make sure that your end cap nut goes into the stud enough to make contact and seat on the wheel, but does not bottom out on the head of that cap. Also it has enough thread engagement (dont want to be held on by 1 or 2 threads), 7 turns(threads)to be safe. This is with the stud installed and torqued down. I dont have that measurement. You would have the measure that. When using aftermarket wheels and then aftermarket lug cap nuts, it want to make sure its safe and correct. =

Use our supplied nuts with the kit and not those end caps in gold you dont have to worry.

Nice writeup, but why RED Loctite and not blue? Don't know if you track the car but if you do and you snap a stud you won't get it out w/o heat.
