Which wheel studs?

I've read a few threads about this but I'm still not sure if I completely understand. I'm getting rid of my s-lights and putting on some volk wheels. I've also bought some blue volk/rays dura-lug nuts in 12x1.5mm. The mini uses lug bolts right so to transfer to lug nuts I would also need to get wheel studs. Am I understanding this correctly? Remember I'm still new at all this . Also since I already have the lug nuts which lug studs do you recomend? Links would be very helpful . Thanks

I can't say for sure.

One thing you need to consider though, is that since your lug nuts are closed-ended, you need to make sure that the studs will fit inside the nut.

Measure the depth inside the nut and a vendor can probably get you the correct length stud.

Thanks. The lug nuts are in the mail and should be here any day now. I'll measure as soon as I get them.

Total lengths, 1.75" min. (could be used with up to a 2mm spacer depending on the thickness of the wheel.) BEST 50mm or 2" (could be used with up to a 1/4" spacer but would still work well with no spacer) 2.25" (probably won't work with a closed end cap lug nut unless used with a spacer of at least 3mm.)

I got 37mm studs from Pilo to use w/o spacers and they work w/ my McGard Lugs perfectly. From seeing my friend's Ray's lugs, they look about the same size, so I'd say the 37 will work great for a no spacer setup. w/ spacers I can't comment

I believe you will find that 37mm is the lug nut end of the stud if you measure it, and not the total length. The lug nut end of my 50mm studs is apx. 35-36mm. You can count the threads of engagement of the nut as you install it, anything more than 7 x1.5mm is the thickness of the spacer you can use.

Thanks for the replies:smile: , I think I got a little bit more of an understanding of this. Yesterday I ordered the 37mm wheel studs from pilo so hopefully they would work .

Here's my problem. I have the 37mm studs, 12mm x 1.5" Gorilla lugs but I can't get a socket on enough of the lug to tighten it properly. I've tried short 19mm socket, short 3/4" socket, deep 19mm and 3/4" socket and have ordered and tried what was supposed to be a 3/4" thin walled socket. What am I missing here?:impatient It shouldn't be this difficult and many others have done the same thing as what we are trying to do here.
