2005 MCS Noise and Vibration RF
Hi,
On the recommendation of a local non-BMW garage, I replaced the RF wheel bearing and hub to correct a noise problem. It didn't fix the problem and may have made it worse. I lifted the vehicle so the front wheels were hanging free and let it idle in first gear. Occasionally the RF makes a sound and a sound also comes from the block where all the brake lines run to under the hood. If I speed up there is a terrible grinding type noise from the RH and the triangle caution light in the dash will come on. And the sound is much worse in reverse.
I took the RF wheel and caliper w/ mounting bracket off and repeated the procedure. No noise this time but the caution light did occasionally come on. The vehicle belongs to my son who out of state right now. Has anyone experienced this type of problem and what can I do to correct it. Thanks.
