This is a question for anyone who knows. Will i be able to fit a 215/45/17 on a 40 offset wheel under my lowered cooper s?

 

they'll fit and look great - but they'll also rub some. With those tall tires, you may run into rear wheel arch problems (requiring clearancing)

however, if you ran a 205/45-17, you would only have minimal rubbing, nothing to worry about.

Can you be more specific?
MCS with what springs or coil overs?
Which wheels with +40mm offset? Just to make sure.
215/45-17 tires? Which ones? Yokohama ES100s have a square shoulder and may rub with 4 people in the car.

1" lowered MCS with H-sport springs usually will fit wheels with +42 to +48 mm offset with no rubbing in stock 205/45-17 size or 215/40-17 (note lower load rating).

i got them on ebay for 386 shipped and around 20lbs

 

well there on there way and i can't wait. For anyone who wants to know i got the wheels off ebay and the tires to. The grand total for 4 wheels and tires came out to be $650 I don't think i have ever come accross a better deal in my life. I check around and to buy these wheels and tires at any store would run upwards of $2k. so im hapy and they will be here in about a week.

ok news update. the wheels will be here on the 25th. I went with the same tires i have now, the wanli 205-40-17, i like them and there inexspencive. i need some info though, will i have any problems with these wheels on my car? 40 offset and 17x7? with the tires i just described. on a 03 copper s with vogtland springs.
