OZ Racing Leggera HLT 18x8 et48 with 10mm spacer up front and 10mm in the rear, plus NM springs.
Yokohana SDrive 215/35 no rubbing at all.
The front wheels went off the fender line.

I see you "redded" out the chrome around the headlights and tail lights. Nice touch.

The door handle too, plus a black belt line. It changed how the car looks. Thanks!

Quote: Well, after much thought, discussion, number crunching (love spreadsheets) and soul searching, I've finally decided on a set of wheels and tires. Whew, didn't know it would be so difficult. They are Enkei RPF1 with Bridgestones RE-71R. I stayed with the 17" setup. Can't wait to get them mounted to the MINI.

where did you find them? and did they have them in the SBC coating?

ryanschram - both tire and wheel were purchased from Tire Rack assembled and with pressure sensors.

Looks nice, you must be in Thailand or somewhere, MINI pretty rare there ? like the painted HL and TL trims.

Pepper do you have the JCW brakes on your S? I really like the looks of your wheel/tire combo, just want to make sure they'll clear my JCW's calipers!

SBC is the chrome-look enkei finish.

Quote: So this is what I finally was able to finish. Planning to powder coat the rims as I'm not a fan of the black chrome color. They are Yokohama advan kreutzer xi; distributed by mackin industry. 17x8 running on 215/45/17. Getting alignment done as we speak because the rear rubs on bumps and dips. Hopefully some negative camber will fix it.

Lowered on JCW coils, JCW BBK installed as well.

This was my only rim option even though it wasn't my first choice because this happened
I friggin love advans. Agree the finish is a little awkward but awesome wheels. What was the offset and weight?

papawhiskey - I do not have the JCW brakes, I've been surprisingly pleased with the stock brakes but some maintenance will be needed before things start back up in the spring. I really didn't pay that much attention to any coating as long as it was silver because weight reduction was my goal. This setup resulted in a 10 pound reduction in each tire/wheel assembly versus stock.

My GF has a mini on order, expected around mid January. I see that 18x8 et45 is almost perfect but she loves the BLQ's. Does anyone know how the 18.8.5 et45 is? Not looking at going too low, at the most nm springs.

Those will poke a bit as 8.5" et45 , stock et is 52 on the 18" x 7, it will be close to the strut tower 10mm less and extend 28mm past stock = poke.

Also those are ball seat you have linked.

on the fence on what to do i have the 17" silver tentacle spoke wheels, and the awful pirelli run flat AS tires. I am trying to decide on whether to just replace with better tires (tirerack has the michellin pss 215/45/17s on sale for $133) and get some spacers and call it a day, or go all in and get new wheels also. i dont want to go 18" as the roads in Atlanta are terrible. so, other than lighter wheels in a 17" there is not much advantage to replacing as i like the look of the stock wheels. I will most likely purchase the jcw pro suspension after the new year so the car will come down some, not all the way on the street though.

I have been going through these threads trying to come up with a strategy. My goals are as much rubber and traction as i can get. i get a ton of wheel spin with the current setup, i have the nm power module (low setting) and remus responder going and i know i am overloading the AS tires...

I may do some light tracking with this car, i have an e30 that is my hard core track car...

what do you guys think, is a lighter wheel worth the extra $$$ or just go with new tires and spacers...

thanks!

Are you wanting the spacers with the tentacle spoke wheels just for looks? I'm running the same wheels with 215/45/17 Goodyears with the sport suspension and don't have a clearance problem.

the spacers would be more for looks, trying to get the wheels a little more flush, especially once the car comes down a little...

Did some fiddling with spacers. Have an 8mm on the front here which just clears the brake making an et40 on the front and a 5mm in the rear making an et43. Im liking this setup. Just need to install the KW's!

^looks awesome. I'd run a 10mm in the rear though as the fronts are now more flush with the fenders than the rear. An et38 in the rear shouldn't rub. I run et30 back there with no issues.

Thanks. Going to see how it looks after I lower it first. Then Possibly put a 10mm back there.

I'd also add a question....what suspension do you have? Clearance of the JCW struts is also crucial when applying alternate wheel/tire combos, not just the JCW Brembo calipers. It only takes a mm or 2 to make fitment difficult!

Thanks! Et35, we didn't weigh them before mounting. Going to install 25mm rear sway in a few weeks so I'll try to remember to weigh the rim/tire combo.
