Asking For Help

I'm currently running a set of O.Z. Superturismo GT
  • • Size: 17x7, 40mm Offset
on my car with 205/45/17 tires, i want to buy another set of wheel's that would be flush with my wheel well or poke out just a little bit. I know it a bunch playing with the offset's,spacers, and rim dimension's to get the right look. I don't know much when it comes to this could i get a couple of ideas from you guyz, thanx in advance

Are you looking for a recommendation for a specific model of wheel or for a wheel specification that sits flush?

17x8 et30 with a 205/40 or 205/45 is a fairly straight forward flush setup.

17x7 et 48 is stock
It has a backspace of 150mm or 5.9", this is the distance from the back of the hub to the outer edge of the wheel/tire and gives some idea of suspension clearance.

Brake caliper clearance has to do with the wheel inner spoke design and inner diameter of the wheel.

17x8 et 30
Has a backspace of 145mm or 5.7" so suspension clearance is nearly stock.
The wheel will stick out 18mm or 0.7" wider than the stock wheel.

If you use a 17x7 wheel with stock offset it would be the same as having a 15 to 18mm spacer over the hub before you install the stock wheel. If you use a spacer that wide you may need to use wheel studs that are long and then wheel lug nuts. MINIs come with stock wheel bolts- that is a stud and nut combined.

So minihune are you saying that this combo wouldn't work?

I listed stock vs the 17x8 wheel for comparison

Assuming you have stock suspension and you have plenty of clearance with your present wheel and tire which you should then

17x8 et 30 should work with the wheel and tire sticking out 0.7" wider than a stock wheel.

Compared to your present wheel the 17x8 wheel would stick out about 10mm more. Now look at your car and see where that puts you. If not out enough you can add a 3 or 5mm spacer. If it sticks out too far then you might not want that wide a wheel or as aggressive an offset.

I'm new to the mini game but thinking about getting new wheels as well.

How would 17X8 +25mm with 205/45's sit on a 07 Mini Cooper S?

Stock height for now will probably be lowering inch or two soon.

That setup would poke out about 5mm from flush, see above posts.
