I Love the way minis look with black roofs and black wheels but do you think it will be just as good with white top and white wheels. I don't want to buy new wheels because they are not cheap. So, Could I just paint the wheels? If so, I how hard is it to do? And what do I need to do it?

Try using white plasti dip. You spray it on like spray paint in 4 or so layers and if you don't like it peels off. Search plasti dip here or look on dipyourcar.com to get any idea what I mean.

Here's another source. They straightened a bent wheel for me and did a super job.

Click the location tab and find them in your area.

I would advise against painting or powder coating the OEM wheels as its much more permanent and will have an effect on trade in value when you go to get something else. I speak from multiple experiences. Plastdip is a much better option because you can just peel it off whenever you want.

My son painted his and his really look good. Went from neon green to a deep red.

My husband also wants white wheels. I've seen some on ebay that are decently priced. Have you considered ebay or craigslist?

If you wanted to go black, I'd say powdercoat as -most- potential buyers down the line are going to be ok with it. White wheels on the other hand should not be permanent as I believe that demographic is smaller.

If you wanna try plasti-dip, there's a thread going here: plasti-dip rim how-to & reviews

Part of owning a MINI is the joy of you-ification. Do whatcha like. Black wheels look good but are played out (IMHO); I see 'em everywhere. White is distinctive and if you have the right brake pads, it's not too hard to keep 'em clean.

I'd like to powdercoat my factory web spokes white, but the logistics make it a pain in the ****. My advice would be to plasti-dip first. If you like the look, consider more permanent methods of color transformation.

You will find white wheel threads here on NAM and also you can look under "show me your wheels". At auto part stores there is wheel paint available that is durable. As long as the theme is consistent on your car, I can't see where it would effect value. I personally think that white is very sporty.

If you're willing to commit to a permanent solution, then skip the idea of paint, and go to powder coating. It's just much more durable than paint, and may not be nearly as expensive as you might think. Do some searching, locally, for powder coating places. They probably have a standard price for wheels that shouldn't be too crazy.
