When replacing the front brake pads; does the brake sensor simply slide into the slot of the new pads? I have a set of Mintex reds for my '04 MCS -- there is no wiring harness for these pads -- I assume one isn't required for the front sensors on my car? Please advise.

Thanks,

As long as the sensor has not gone off, you can pop it out of the old pad with a flat headed screwdriver. Make sure to remove the little metal clip as well, and insert both of them into the new pad.

I just did this on Saturday with EBC Green stuffs.

Jblow,
I tried this with a set of Mintex pads on my '04 MCS on Saturday, and the sensors DO NOT FIT the Mintex pads. In order to make them fit, the metal on the brake pad around the slot that the sensor is supposed to fit into would have to be milled down to half of its thickness. I bought these from BMP, so I'm going to give them a call to find out what the problem is. I asked BMP if the sensors would fit before I ordered the pads so it makes me think that something must be different on the '04 sensors.

Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, what pads will allow the sensors to be fitted?

Thanks,
