Rays Volk TE37 on MINI Cooper

Hi everyone,

I would just like to ask experts/seniors here regarding installation of VOLK TE37 17 inch, 7.5 , offset 40 rims to MINI JCW Cooper 2009. What are the things I would need to install it to my car (wheel spacers/changing lugs to studs, hub centric rings, etc). What size of spacer/ lug conversion kit I will need? I cannot do a trial and error method for I am living in an area where car accessories/supply is very scarce. Im only ordering online once I confirm the exact specs of what i need.

Hope to hear from you guys.

Thanks...

PS: If anyone has installed it on their MINI, I would appreciate it if you can post pics.

You don't need anything other than tires, pressure sensors and valve stems

I have Volk CE28N's in 17x17.5 +43. Unless you have the Stoptech, Brembo, or even the JCW big brake kits, you don't need spacers or anything. If you do, all you'll need are H&R 5mm spacers.

Depending on bore size, you will need hubcentric spacers and most likely M14 to M12 studs to get it mounted since the holes are so tiny for M12 bolts.

Thanks Creeve and ra2fanatic for the inputs.

Does anyone know where I can source hub centric ring with 56.1/65 size? I usually see specs with 56.1/65.1.

Happy motoring ....

Sir MINIbol,

Can you please specify what were the things you did to install your rims to MINI?

Im confused with the lug conversion kit. Did you use spacers? What size tires you used?

Very nice car sir.

Thanks for the pic.

I only posted a pic of my friends MINI with the wheels from your initial post. He's moved on from the MINI but maybe you can still reach him on here. User name is robspec. He may still be selling the wheels too.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help my friend.

Yeah, that's Robspec's R56. He has both his sets of TE37 for sale, but both offsets on his R56 are not really good for track use. If you're just using them as dailies, then they're great, but the offset isn't that good for track use, only for stance.

I've been wanting either one if em since he's put them for sale. I told him if he still has one set by tax refund time, I'll be giving him a call. hahaha

I was going to get his gray set, but then I got these CE28N's. I think I got a better deal and a better set since I can run some aggressive tires w/o rubbing.

Dear Muttbear,

What tire size on on your JCW with TE37?

I am currently on original tires 205/45R17, looking for 215/45R17 or 215/40R17. But 215/40R17 hard to come by in Malaysia and Singapore.

JUST TO CONFIRM
If I have a JCW R56, Ideally I would need 17X7.5 +38 sizes/offsets, correct?

What does your question have to do with Volk TE37 wheel? TE37 doesn't come in 4x100 bolt pattern for your MINI. If asking about wheel fitment then start a new thread.

For 2008 OEM wheel size 18x7" et42

compared to your 18x8" et33

Your wheel will be 3.7mm closer to inner suspension (should be fine) and poke out 21.7mm more which is quite a bit.

What suspension are you using? Lowered suspension gives less clearance for wide wheels and tires.

What tire size were you going to use and which tire?

205/45-16 fits wheels 6.5-7.5" wide, perfect for 7" wide rim, tire diameter is small at 23.3" or 1" less than OEM.

Tire selection is not that good in that size, other tire sizes for 16x8" wheels tend to be taller than OEM at 24.9".

Smaller tire diameter gives more room for clearance with wide wheel and lowered suspension. Tall tire not as good for clearance when wide wheel is used but fully adjustable coilovers can be helpful for custom fit for no rubbing.
