Stock JCW wheels with Non-Run flat tire question

I have a set of OEM JCW wheels off a 2008 that I am going to put some non runflat tires on. I have heard rumors that some people are getting slow air leaks due to the difference in the wheel design for run flats and the difference in the bead of the different tires. Has anyone had this issue? If so has is there a way to prevent it?

thats total bs. theres no such thing as a wheel being designed for run flats vs non run flats. we ditched the run flats on my gf's mini and have she's had no issues what so ever.

your jcw wheels with regular non runflat will be fine

Previous owner of our JCW ditched the run flats right when they got it. ran it for 7,000 miles over the course of a year without run flats. we have it now and we have no issue at all. i second what was said above me.

Thanks for the input. I did not think so, but thought I would ask.

doesn't hurt to ask... i think it would be a shame to spend the money on new tires and then go to jump in it and there all flat. and then to get mad because someone told that was going to happen. lol

There's no difference in the rims. My 06 JCW cab with the black JCW wheels has been running standard tires for 10's of thousands of miles. Works great.

I bought mine with the JCW challenge spoke wheels and immediately put on non-runflats. I've been on them a year and no air leaks. These are just standard wheels. If someone tells you anything different, just walk away.

If you were talking about bead lock wheels (used in extreme off roading), then the difference would be the way the tires are mounted and then some tires wouldn't work on those wheels. But our wheels have no need for bead locks
