Thanks for the kind words... I love my color combination too.

Your wheels look great, but I bet they are a major pain to keep clean.

Just swapped my crown spokes out in favor of some old school enkei's I found on craigslist and had refurbed. 17x7.5 RP-01's 16.6lbs each 38mm offset with 205/45/17 Cooper Zeon RS3-A's. Much better than the 23lb stockers with oem runflats!!

Loooove those wheels but I seriously hope they came with a band of tiny elves to keep them clean.

235/40 Z1 Star Spec on Motegi MR125 17x7.5, all via Alex at TireRack.

Some very minor rubbing on the plastic fender pieces at the front, and contact between the tire and the wheel well liner at the rear on big bumps (stock suspension). This really seems to be just a hair too large; there's maybe 5mm clearance to the strut in front / trailing arm in the rear and no room at all for more poke. If I want to drop it to deal with the fender gap, I think I'll have to go down to 225s.

Sticks like glue, but.

DrZ - would love to see some shots of the whole car. Since it was a toss up for me between the MR125's and the Enkei Imola's, I'm curious to see what I would have had...

I don't think I'll have any regrets - I LOVE these wheels!

Here's a couple of fairly terrible indoor shots; next time I'll have to find some better lighting. For fun, there's a shot of the front strut clearance... I'm trying to find some coilovers/shocks that will clear these monsters.

Matt, thanks for the offer; if I have to step down it'll be for suspension, and I'll drop you a line first if I do.

DrZ - great looking red roof JCW. Wheels from that distance (and with a cell phone ) are almost indistinguishable from the Imola's - a great choice for your color combo, too.

Are the struts on a JCW different than other MINIS?

There are optional suspension pieces, but I didn't order them as I was planning on going aftermarket anyway. Currently, it has the same suspension as a regular Cooper S Clubman.

The most notable difference between the wheels is probably that the Motegi's are brake-dust coloured to begin with; there is no shiny to worry about. 8)

Do you have any rubbing issues with that setup?
