16x7 wheel fitment question

So I can't find anyone that stocks Rota Boosts in 16x6.5, mainly because all of the autocrossers go for the Slipstreams since they're lighter. I already have SSR's and slipstreams for autocross, and just wanted a set of Boosts to daily. So my question is will a 16 x7 +40 offset wheel fit on my '02 MC? If so, would a 205/50/16 tire do that justice? Looking to wrap these in Star Specs.

If they'll fit, it looks like I'll need some hubcentric rings, but just wanted to make sure I wouldn't be rubbing the strut. I should mention that it's on stock springs.

16x7 et40 will fit with no issues. 205/50R16 Star Specs would mount up perfectly.
Let me know If I can help you with them

I agree with Alex!

205/50-16 Star specs are awesome. There are many other tire choices but for the money, great performance and ride quality.

and they look good too.

Have 205/50/15 star specs on my OEM holies right now Thought about trying RS3's, but don't think I'll be able to live with the look of 205/55/16's...

My 1st set of aftermarket wheels was a set of Rota Slipstream in 16x7 +40 with Yokohama Advan AD07 tires 205/50R16. Dropped on Eibach pro-kit springs, they rubbed in the back. On stock springs I think they'll be fine
