DIY Rim Painting?

I am interested in painting my rims satin black. Is there a "DIY" way or would it require going to a paint-shop and having them powdercoated? I've attached two photos (original and photoshopped version) of my MINI. Currently, the wheels are the standard silver. I went into photoshop and, to the best of my ability, tried to mimic what satin black would look like on the rims with the center caps in their original silver/chrome. What do you guys think?

Thanks in advance!

I have painted many a set of wheels, and for the winter months they are fine, but they do tend to chip at times. If these are your primary wheels I would go the powered coated way.
