I got an 05 Cooper S and gonna get rid of all the run flats.

Is this a good deal? I see some places sell it for $289 or so.

Here's a temp spare from Outmotoring for $129. It's the one I'm going to get because I plan to replace the run flats on my MCS as soon as I get it.

Another possibility: http://www.detroittuned.com/shop/?productID=504

I don't have any experience with it and don't know if it is in stock.

I was just there at the shop this weekend for WWR Live and there were at least 4 in stock ready to go.

I do not understand, my "Justa" has a spare under the boot. Oh that's right it is an "S" thing.

I just tried to buy this and it was too good to be true. They wanted $140 for the shipping alone. I checked all the shipping methods and the cheapest one they had was $70.

Sorry but I am not paying that much for shipping. What a bunch of jokers.

Does anyone recommend the spare tire link at this site:

http://www.minifini.com/ShopDetail.aspx?id=16

I would buy it if it was easy to install. Anyone have experience with one of these?

It is less expensive to purchase a wheel from Classic MINI and a tire from Alex at Tire Rack.
Classic MINI wheel: $37.69 + shippping ($17 to WA state)
Tire Rack: Kuhmo compact spare from Alex for $37 ea, and shipping is $11.06 = $48.06
Total: $102.75 + $10 to mount and balance.

I was going to buy something from a wrecking yard, but buying new is about the same price.

You must live in Timbuktu. Mine arrived in two days courtesy of FedEx for less than $36 shipping. Good communications throughout. Quite pleased with the transaction and the delivered item (nice freebies thrown in too). My thanks to Chad and DT.

I live the in the US. I already emailed them asking about the shipping problem. At first I thought the $140 was the price of the tire and shipping but it was just for shipping.

You can also go to the wrecking yard site car-part.com and look for compact spares. There's several of them from MINI Coopers (justa's) that are $45 to $60. Look for one close to you to keep the shipping down. That's how I got mine.

You search for:
2005
BMW MINI Cooper
Wheel (with or without image)
USA
Distance
(put in your zip code)

Then hit search. On the next screen select compact spare and it will list all the wrecking yards with spares available. Be careful, because some listings aren't actually compact spares.
