+40mm offset for 20x7.5 rims?
+40mm offset for 20x7.5 rims?
I know I know, 99% of you guys will not like the idea, but i want 20s on my mini (r53).
If i run 20x7.5 40mm offset on 215/30/20s, will that work? Should be the same width as my 18x7.5 42mm offset on 215/35/18s right?

Hey to each their own you know? Anyways here's a youtube link of a MINI with 20's.

Also I've been in the tire business since 97 and the width is right this is how you figure out your width and also the overall diameter of your tire. 215 is your width which there is 25.4 mm equals an inch. Then your sidewall is 35 which is 35% of the width of 215 whcih gets your height R is radial and 18 is rim size. So take this in account, a 215/35R18 compared to a 215/35R20 the 20 being 2 inches taller than your 215/35R18. Hope that makes sense

1.15" taller according to the tire size calculator at 1010tires...

lets say right now you have a 215/35R18 the overall diameter of that tire is 23.9" ok. When going plus sizes you should stay within +- 3% of the overall diameter of stock. If they make a 215/25R20 then that overall diameter is 24.2" which is close. Remember less rubber on the car and more rim you dont have that much rubber, sidewall to absorb some of that impact and therefore could cause premature damage to your struts, torn strut mounts maybe even mushrooming. Just be careful driving cause puck fotholes you know. But if you do it post pics.
Ya it never gets driven so I'm not worried about running very thin tires. The only 25 series 20" tire they make is too wide, something like a 285/25/20. The smallest tire that'll fit is a 215/30/20.
What was the stock size on 17" slites? 205/45/17 i think? Can't remember.
