Leased Mini Brake work

I have a leased Mini and the dealer says I need front brakes & rotors for $700. It's out of warranty and I would rather do it myself.
Whats the best source for rotors and pads that meet the dealer specs?.
Does this have any effect on my lease?

way at waymotor works can hook you up. Brakes need to be within factory specs, so If he has some nice used rotors and pads (from upgrades or parts cars) they will not only work fine, but be cheap and perfectly OK for a lease return.

Any parts made for the mini are fine to use.

I'm curious about this as my MINI is near end of lease late this year... MINI requires 50% brake wear left on the pads... Now is that based on a measurement of physical pad material, or based on the wear sensor? I understand that the wear sensor may say 0KM/0mi left to replacement but may have quite a bit of room left.

I still have 50,000km (31,000mi) front and 60,000km (37,000mi) rear left according to the MINI computer thingy.

Canadian MINIs didn't have the inclusive maintenance... New ones do but it only includes minimal coverage (oil/brake/filter).

What Mini computer thingy. If I replace the pads do I need to reset this "thingy"? If so how do I do that?

We have many different options for Brakes that range in price and features. But in reality you should be able to put anything on. I've never seen a lease turn in inspector check the pads and ding someone. You should be fine as long as they work and you replace the sensors so there is no light on.
