Looking at Enkei Wheels - Any Experience With Them?

I have decided to ditch the runflats for non-runflats and also change to darker wheels at the same time. I really like these 16" Enkei WDM wheels I found at Tire Rack that I would be paring with Yokohama AVID ENVigors 195/55R16 or possibly a little wider. Does anyone have any negative/positive experience with Enkei? This is my first time buying non-oem wheels and was going to see if there is anything I need to look out for.

Thanks,
Kevin

I have owned Enkei rims in the past and have been highly satisfied with them . I am actually having a winter set put on my new 2011 JCW . I had thought about getting the rims that you posted but went with the Black Painted Enkei Performance EDR9 instead just because I like the black on black look .

I use a set on the track. Very light, and no issues so far. Whatever wheel you decide to go with, your MINI will feel like a different car once the run flats are gone.

Thanks, I really liked the "saw" like look that makes them more unique.

That makes me feel much better about them!

Great to hear, I can't wait to drop the run flats. The ones I have are just about to the wear markers so they feel like Fred Flintstone's rock tires right now!

I liked my OR25s though they were a little to heavy for my taste. They were the same color as posted about. Also remember that most Enkeis don't come with center caps and that the caps are not cheap.

Thanks for the tip. I noticed when I put these in my cart at Tire Rack it asked if I wanted accessories for it and one option was "additional center caps" which I thought was odd. It may mean actual center caps. I will check before I buy.

Thanks,
Kevin

I had them on my Mustang GT, and at least 3 or 4 sets on my Toyota Supra's. Never had any issues with them at all

Enkei products get a big from me, had the RS+M on my '09 S, now they are on one Son's '06 S. Same Son has the SC03 as winter wheels. Other Son has the PF01 on his '04 Cooper.
All are finished very well, my fave is the RS+M, very classic look and excellent finish.

I have had numerous sets of the Enkeis that come stock on Evos and never had one problem with them.

Honestly any major manufacter is going to be good (although there are spotty manufactering batches but those are always overly exaggerated).

I prefer forged rims but are normally 2x the cost, if not more.

Good to hear about all of those positive experiences!

That is one reason I posted this, I thought those seemed very cheap for wheels. But I haven't seen any with a similar style that were more expensive or brands I have heard of (not that I know many! ). I did see some in the $400+ range but that was out of what I am willing or able to do right now! It's just time for new tires and thought I would do it all at once!

I purchased a set of Enkei EDR9 wheels with Goodyear Eagle GT tires this summer and I'm loving this set up. I have a winter set up now though with some Blizzacks and the original wheels.

I spent a good bit of time researching aftermarket wheels for my R55 S. I ended up finding out that one of my relatives is in the automotive wheel business. Who knew? He told me that he considered Enkie to be one of the better wheel manufacturers.

I ended up with a set of Enkie Imola 17 x 7.5's from Tire Rack. My tires are 215/45 17 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S+'s . I'm very happy with both.

Good Luck.
