Is there any issue with the MINI donut wheel from a R53 fitting a new R59.

I assume that the R59 would be the same as a R56. Thanks.

I seem to recall that for the first gen cars, nearly all but the last few months of production has a bolt pattern of 4x100, and that the R56 and the other 2nd gen cars have a 4x114.3 bolt pattern. I am 75% sure of this. So what I'm saying is that there is a chance that the bolt pattern of the donut won't work on the R59.

The bolt pattern is 4 x 100 for all R50, R53 & R56, 55 & 57. What changed was the lug bolts went up in size from 12mm to 14mm sometime in ealrly 2006.

The donut from an R50 willl not clear the front brakes of an R56 MCS.

Will it clear the rear brakes of a R56?

If the R56 is just a Cooper it will fit. If the r56 is a Cooper S it will not fit over the front calipers although it will fit over the rear calipers.

What is an R59???

Like the weatherman, I'm never wrong.

R59, huh? I'd just assumed it was the convertible. I never go into the 2nd gen area so I'm not sure. Kinda lost track after the R56.

Oh, it is the new roadster thing. Maybe the OP is planning on buying one.

a R59 is the two seat coupe not the roadster.

I must have missed something...maybe I should go back to the newbie section... Where do you mount a donut spare on an R53? I thought there was no room, due to the exhaust. Is there, like, a continental kit, or something, that I've never seen, LOL?

on my R53 I keep it in a tire bag behind the passenger seat. No one sits

in the rear seat so it's not an issue.

+1

Mine rides very nicely there with the passenger seat moved all the way back to lock it in.
