Sorry man.......
It is very easy. I just used some red 1/4" pinstripe tape. Cut into strips and then placed them into the wheel. Was very easy and only took a few minutes per wheel.
Hope that helps!

They are currently out of stock. If you can PM me your details, I would be happy to get an ETA and exact price for you. They do look like a very nice, ultra lite option.
Thanks again!

Adam,
I like Konig wheels but may prefer 15" wheels for a 2008 base Mini. I also like some of the Maxxim Wheels. Konig says that the Rewind doesn't fit the second gen because the lug holes are 13mm and mine are 14mm. I always understood it to be a brake caliper issue....which is true? Also I like the following as listed on the Konig website: Roller Machined, Moment, Backbone, Foil, Eco, Lightspeed, Feather, Forward and Lace. Some dealers list that many, some or all will fit my car. My confidence level is low as there is so many different opinions. Additionally, is there a center cap for the Foil? Can you help me to understand which Konig 15 inch wheel will fit my car...please? Thank you very much for your help to the Mini comunity.

16" and up has been really easy to fit on all the models (JCW can be tight and I recommend 17+ only) So if you can get comfortable with a 16" wheel the Feather, Foil, etc. will all fit a "Just-a" without issues.
Let me know how I can help further!

It's time for me to buy a set of new wheels and tires for my 2009 Chili Red MCS and the Konig feathers seem like a great option. I could use some help in the decision making...
1. 16" or 17" - I assume the feathers come in 16" as well... how much do the 16s weigh? I understand the 17s are 16.5 lbs each. I currently have ASA AR1 with 215/45/17 but the NJ potholes are getting to me and the other thought is that lighter wheels would help a bit with a acceleration...
... so if I get 16s, would 215/55/16 fit or 215/50/16 or can I go even wider like 225/50/16? I fear I would lose handling with 55s though...
2. Any pics of minis with 16 inch feathers?
3. Any pics of the feathers in silver/grey on a mini?
Thanks so much!

The 16" wheels come in roughly 1 lb lighter than the 17" version.
The issue with 16" on a JCW is the brake clearance. I am not 100% sure that the 16's will clear the calipers. Assuming the do, then the 215 / 50 / 16 would be ok, but honestly I would push to 225.
Coming back to the 17's. I would look seriously at a 225-235/40/17 to help give some much needed meat to the car as well as some additional sidewall to help combat the pot holes and improve the ride quality as well. I personally run 235's on my 09 JCW.
I'm not sure on photos, but I'll see what I can do!
Let me know how I can help further. Thanks again!

Well, mine is a 2009 Cooper S and not JCW, so I guess the calipers are not an issue. The car was bought used and I am not sure if it has been lowered as it looks like there is not much room with 215/45/17s... I believe the springs are stock... I like the look of these tires but they are not able to handle the potholes well... don't you think the sidewall with 225/40/17 would be lesser than these?
You think I could go 225/50 on the 16s? I like the continental extremecontact DW (113 ea) or DWS or the BF Goodrich gSport ($100 ea)... This way... I get lighter rims, lighter tires and more sidewall... how much would handling suffer?

You can do the 225 on the 16 or 17. Can you shoot me a pic to adam.taft@ALTAPerformance.com of the car? Then I can confirm if it is lowered or not and we can go from there.
Thanks again!

Thanks for the email with pics. That helped!
I would stick with the 17's, go to either a 215/45 or 225/40/17 tire. You can even squeeze 235/40/17's on as well. (That is what I run on my Feathers) Plus I use 5mm spacers too!
The Black / Red Feathers would look kiiler on that car! Great choice!
If you want shoot some pics of the engine bay and from under the car to see what other goodies might be on there.
Thanks again!

Thanks Adam, I will take some pics as soon as I get a chance...
I can imagine the 17s will look pretty nice on my current setup but what are your thoughts on this setup?
225/50/16 on Konig feathers and conti extreme contact DW...
- I just feel that this setup might provide a more comfortable ride for daily driving (I would likey use the same kind of tire whether 16 or 17").
- How much would I lose on the handling in aggressive city driving? I am currently using Michelin Alpin PA2s (still on the winters) and not really impressed with the grip that they offer... on wet or slick roads (although they did fine on snow).
- Potholes are a big part of my life... sadly... but if there would be a BIG difference in performance, I would rather go with the better handling...
- If I go with the 16s... then 215/50 or 225/50. This is the link that I found for a 2006 mini with 225/50/16... he had do modifications to the rear... would I need to do the same?

...just confused at this point...
I know most people would say it depends on what I want... I want the best tire and wheel setup for aggressive city driving!
Thanks for bearing with me.

It isn't like the 17's are going to be WAY better handling etc. Go with what YOU like and want!
